Installation and operating manual for
RJSG 1
General information
The RJSG 1 is suitable for controlling motors for blinds, shutters, Venetian blinds,
awnings and skylights.
Control functions
All inputs except A1 and A3 have impulse function and can be actuated with different
phases. A continuous control voltage does not change the switching status.
A1/A3 static control inputs: priority control
By applying a continuous signal to the A1 input, the blinds are moved upwards as a
matter of priority. Priority downwards movement is induced by a continuous signal
at the A3 input. When signal is received from the A1 and A3 inputs, the control com-
mands to the other control inputs are saved; the most recently saved control com-
mand is executed once the priority signal is lifted.
A2/A4 dynamic control inputs: individual control
Each set of blinds can be moved independently of the others into any desired position
using a keypad. By pressing the corresponding button on
control inputs A2 or A4, the blinds are moved upwards or downwards. Pressing
the same button once again stops the blinds at any desired position.
A5/A7 dynamic control inputs: central control
A group of blinds, e.g. a floor, a side of a building or an entire building can be closed
or opened simultaneously with an impulse to control inputs A7 or A5 when multiple
devices are switched in parallel.
Important note
Motors with electronic torque monitoring often require a period of freedom from
voltage of up to 600 ms in order to change direction; this switching time (t = 600 ms) is
observed by the RJSG 1. Control impulses which occur during the switching time will
cause the switching time to start over again. Once the switching time has expired,
the most recent control command is executed. The load relay of the RJSG 1 has an
automatic switch-off function. The time from the last control command to inputs A2,
A4, A5 or A7 until the load contacts are disconnected can be set to ∞, 5, 10, 30, 45,
60 or 90 seconds using a rotary switch on the front of the housing. The blinds should
reach their end position within the set time. If a switch-off time of ∞ is set, switch-
off is not automatic. In this case, a switch-off is only possible by actuating A2 or A4
(STOP). The motor is then stopped only by its limit switch. According to the motor
manufacturer, when using capacitor blind motors, parallel switching of several mo-
tors is not generally permitted. The manufacturer's instructions for the drive motors
must always be observed.
Mounting
Installation of the blind control relay may only be carried out by an authorised,
trained technician. The relay is installed in the distribution board by snapping it onto
a mounting rail.
Guarantee
All professionally installed devices are covered by warranty during a period of
12 months from the day of purchase by the end user. The guarantee is not applica-
ble to damage incurred during transport or caused by short-circuit or overloading or
improper use. In the event of defects in workmanship or material, which are discov-
ered within the guarantee period, the company will provide a replacement free of
charge. The guarantee will be rendered null and void of the device is opened without
authorization.

Guarantee
All professionally installed, unaltered devices are covered by warranty during the
statutory guarantee period from the day of purchase by the end user. The guaran-
tee is not applicable to damage incurred during transport or caused by short-circuit,
overloading or improper use. In the event of defects in workmanship or material,
which are discovered within the guarantee period, the company will provide a repair
or replacement free of charge. The guarantee will be rendered null and void if the
device is opened without authorisation.
