2. Oil Fondue
1. Preparation
•
Set up the fondue as previously described and prepare it for use.
2. Ingredients
•
Cooking oil (e.g. frying oil/fat) for the fondue.
•
Various meats (e.g. beef, chicken, pork) cut into bite-sized cubes.
•
Marinades or spices of your choice.
•
Dips and sauces such as cocktail sauce, garlic sauce or herb butter.
3. Preheat oil in pot
•
Fill the fondue pot with cooking oil.
•
Make sure to pour the oil so that the level is between the min and max
markings on the inside of the pot.
•
Plug in the appliance and turn the right temperature control knob to the
"Max" position to preheat. The red indicator light will turn on, showing
that the appliance is heating and it will turn blue when it is fully heated.
•
To ensure the oil is sufficiently heated, preheat for 30 minutes. A good
indicator that the oil is hot enough is the formation of bubbles when you
dip a wooden stick into the oil.
4. Start fondue
•
Dip the meat cubes into the hot oil using the fondue skewers and cook to
the desired degree of doneness.
5. Serve
• Place various dips and sauces in bowls around the fondue pot.
• Each piece of meat can be dipped in the desired dip after cooking and
enjoyed.
Warning
Do not move the appliance while the oil is hot!
Caution
Especially with oil fondue, make sure that the food used is as dry as possible
on the outside. Moisture can cause the oil to foam over and splash excessively.
Therefore, pat moist food dry with a kitchen towel before cooking with oil
fondue.
