SPECTRON BANDPASS SUBWOOFER
Congratulations on your purchase of this SPECTRON bandpass
subwoofer system.
Read and follow the operating and adjustment instructions for
this trunk box subwoofer model given below carefully, to
obtain best possible sound quality and performance from this
product.
PLACEMENT OF BOX
This SPECTRON bandpass model is designed and engineered to be placed in the trunk of the car, to achieve full bass
perfomance and low end extension.
POWER CONNECTION FOR LED ILLUMINATION
Connect the 3.5mm plug with the extension wire to the receptor inside the terminal. Connect the loose ends to an appropriate
switched 12V source like the trunk box illumination, if you intend to use the illumination feature of this product.
AUDIO CONNECTION AND SETTINGS
Before any adjustments are attempted, "treble", "bass" and "loudness" controls of the head-unit must be set to their neutral/zero
position. Your bandpass subwoofer needs a low-pass filtered signal with at least 12dB/oct. slopes for best results.
§ Activate the lowpass function of the amp channel(s) driving your bass box.
§ Set the lowpass crossover frequency of the channel(s) driving the sub to approx. 80 Hz
§ Connect the speaker wire of your sub amp to the speaker terminal on the backside of the sub.
§ Increase the input gain of the subwoofer channel, until bass output is loud enough.
„In-phase" connection of your subwoofer is critical – if your sub plays out of phase, the output at the crossover frequency region
will be depressed due to cancellation effects.
Thus one connection polarity of your sub will give you a „fatter" and more dynamic bass reproduction in the 80Hz range.
That's the one to go for.

in certain countries. For making sure to follow all national traffic and vehicle regulations and not to distract drivers attention,
we recommend connecting the box illumination to the interior light of the trunk.
