• D o not connect the product to the power supply immediately after it has been trans-
ferred from a cold room into a warm one (e.g., during transport). The condensation
that forms might destroy the device. Moreover, there is danger of electric shock!
A llow the device to reach room temperature before switching it on. Wait until
the condensation has evaporated. This might take several hours. Only after this
should it be installed, connected to the mains supply and put into use.
d) Handling, operation
• N ever overload the product. Observe the maximum connected load specified in
the chapter "Technical data".
• T his product should never be touched or operated with wet hands. There is a risk
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• N ever pour any liquids above or next to the product. You run the risk of causing a
fire or a fatal electric shock.
I f any liquid has still managed to enter the device, immediately turn off the mains
supply at all poles (turn off the fuse / circuit breaker / residual current operated
circuit breaker of the associated circuits). Only then should you disconnect a con-
nected consumer (or a USB device) from the product. Contact a specialist. Do not
use the product any longer.
• Use the product only in a temperate climate, never in a tropical climate.
• D o not use the product if it is damaged. There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
• I f it can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible, the product must
be turned off and precautions must be taken to ensure that it is not used unin-
tentionally. Do not touch either the product or a consumer connected to it or the
connected USB device/cable.
F irst switch off the mains voltage to all poles (switch off the connected circuit
breaker or remove the fuse and then switch off the connected RCD).
• Safe operation can no longer be assumed if:
- the product shows visible signs of damage
- t he product does not work at all or works poorly (leaking smoke or a smell of
burning, audible cracking noises, discolouration to the product or the adjacent
surfaces)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport
• A lso observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are
connected to this product.
Installation and connection
• The device must be voltage-free during installation and connection.
T urn the power off and ensure that none of the poles is live by removing the electric circuit's
fuse or switching off at the circuit breaker. In addition, switch off the appropriate earth-leakage
circuit breaker. Secure it against unauthorised reconnection, e.g., with a danger sign.
• C heck that the mains cable is free of current, e.g., with an appropriate tester.
• R emove the central plate and the cover
frame by removing the central Phillips screw
in the socket.
• C onnect the mains supply line (line cross-section respec-
tively 1.5 to 2.5 mm²) to the terminal connections. The
cores must be stripped to a length of approx. 10 mm.
L = Phase
N = Neutral wire
PE = Protective Earth
T wo line connections apiece are available, so
that the cable can be led on e.g. to a second
socket.
I f a line needs to be removed from a terminal connection, hold the respective unlock
button firmly depressed and then pull the line out of the terminal connection.
• S et the socket in the flush/surface box. It can be fixed in place using either the mounting
prongs on the sides or with screws.
• P lace the cover frame and the central plate belonging to it on the socket and attach them with
the screw removed at the beginning.
Operation
• A t the safety socket of the product, you can plug in a standard electrical consumer, just like
at other sockets.
• A t the USB charging output (USB-A socket), you can charge a mobile end device (smart-
phone, tablet computer or similar). Connect the mobile end device to the USB charging out-
put with a suitable cable.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product is maintenance-free. Repair or maintenance work must be carried out by a spe-
cialist.
You can use a clean, dry, soft cloth for cleaning. Dust can be removed very easily with a vacuum
cleaner.
Do not use aggressive chemical or scouring cleaning agents, as this may lead to discolouration
or changes in the material on the surface.

W hen inserting the socket and fixing it in place, make sure that the cables do not
become damaged.
T he safety socket is equipped with a child safety device. Only when the prongs of a
power plug are placed in both openings of the socket at the same time will the child-
lock mechanism release the opening.
N evertheless, take special caution when children are around. Children cannot re-
cognise the danger arising from the incorrect use of electrical devices. There is a
risk of a life-threatening electric shock!
I n doing so, make sure that the USB plug is correctly plugged into the USB socket.
Do not apply force when connecting the USB plug.
F or the information on charging time, etc., see the operating instructions for the
device that you have connected to the USB charging output.
T he USB charging output is intended only for supplying voltage/power to the con-
nected USB device, not for data transmission.
The product must not be disposed of in the household waste.
D ispose of the product at the end of its serviceable life in accordance with the current
statutory requirements; e.g., return it to any suitable collection point.
