INSTRUCTION MANUAL
Before use
Before using the kettle, you should read the
instruction manual carefully and then retain it for
future use.
The kettle should only be used to heat and boil
water. Never pour milk, soup, coffee or tea into the
kettle.
Use
Open the lid and pour water into the kettle (see
the water level markings on the outside of the
kettle) and close the lid. Do not pour water into
the kettle when it is placed on the base. The water
from the first couple of boilings should not be
used, as there may be some impurities left in the
kettle after manufacture.
CAUTION: If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water
may spray out. The maximum volume of the
kettle of 1.7 litres must therefore not be
exceeded. The kettle must never be switched on
unless there is water in it, as this could damage
the kettle beyond repair.
If this should happen, it will switch off
automatically. If you do accidentally switch the
kettle on without any water in it, remove the
kettle from the base and leave it to cool for a
couple of minutes. Make sure that you add
sufficient water (at least up to the MIN level)
before switching the kettle on again. The kettle
consists of two parts: the kettle or jug itself and a
separate live base.
The kettle must only be used with the base
supplied. Make sure that the cable does not hang
over the edge of the table or worktop where
children could grab hold of it. Insert the plug
into a socket and place the filled kettle on the
base. Make sure that the lid is properly closed.
Switch on the kettle by pushing the switch above
the handle upwards. The indicator light will come
on.
ENGLISH
When the water is boiling, the kettle will switch
off automatically after a few seconds. The switch
will click off and the indicator light will go out.
The kettle can also be switched off manually by
pushing the switch down. Avoid contact with the
hot steam when the water is boiling or
immediately after the kettle has switched off. Do
not open the lid immediately after boiling. Always
remove the plug from the socket when the kettle
is not in use.
CAUTION: Make sure that the kettle
automatically switches off or switch it off
manually before removing it from its base.
IMPORTANT! Condensation can form on the
bottom of the kettle and on the kettle base. This
is quite normal and perfectly safe.
Dry boil protection
The kettle has inbuilt dry boil protection, which
works as follows:
If the kettle should boil dry or be accidentally
switched on without any water, the protection
will automatically switch off the kettle.
The dry boil protection will automatically
reconnect the power after about 15 minutes. The
protection will thus switch on and off until the
kettle is switched off manually. The reconnection
time can be reduced by pouring cold water into
the kettle. Heating is restarted by pushing the
switch up again.
In the unlikely event of the first protection
failing, an additional disposable fuse will
disconnect all power from the kettle. If this fuse
is activated, the kettle must be returned to the
dealer for repair.
Nickel-free
The kettle gives off levels of nickel to the boiled
water that are below that permitted by the
authorities, which poses no health risks for
allergy sufferers according to the Danish
Veterinary and Food Administration.
