Safety Instructions

This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by
■
people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a
lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or
have received instruction on how to use the device safely and
have understood the dangers resulting from this.
Children must not play with the device.

Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by chil-
■
dren, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are super-
vised.
Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept
■
away from the device and the connecting cable.
Warning of hot surfaces! The espresso maker will become
■
very hot during use! Only ever touch the device by its handles
and use oven gloves if necessary to prevent injuries.
The device should always be unplugged from the power sup-
■
ply if it is not supervised, and before assembly, disassembly or
cleaning.
Use the espresso maker only with the base station provided. Do
■
not use the base station with other devices.
Fill the water reservoir no higher than the MAX marking. The
■
valve of the water reservoir must not be situated in the water
area as otherwise it may fur up and thus have an adverse effect
on how the valve works and on safety.
If the device, the connection line or the device plug is damaged,
■
it must be replaced by the manufacturer or customer service or
by a similarly qualifi ed person (e.g. qualifi ed workshop) to avoid
any risks.
The device is not intended to be operated with an external timer
■
or a separate telecontrol system.
Risks of injury
■ Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
■ Danger of scalding! The espresso maker emits hot steam! Keep your face and hands
out of the danger zone during the brewing process!
■ Danger of scalding! Make sure that the safety valve on the water reservoir is not
pointing towards the user. If the safety valve is triggered, hot steam will escape from
the opening!
