Water Resistance
The water resistance of the watch is rated IP68, meaning it is resistant to dust and short-term immersion in water. However, the
watch is not suitable for diving, swimming, using in a sauna, or for long-term water exposure. Showering while wearing this watch
is also not recommended, as the waterproof protection is designed for normal room temperature. High temperatures (e.g., in a hot
shower or sauna) may deform the waterproof seals and allow water vapor to enter the device, potentially causing corrosion
damage to the display or internal chip. If you're looking for a watch for swimming or diving, choose one with at least 5 ATM water
resistance, as confirmed by pressure testing.
It is important to avoid contact with: soapy water, salt water, water mixed with shampoo, conditioner, or cosmetics.
This is because the IP68 test protocol only uses clean, fresh water. All waterproof watches – whether electronic, mechanical, or
quartz – should not be worn while showering.
Even though IP68 sounds robust, these watches are not suitable for swimming, because water pressure during various swim
movements can fluctuate, which may cause water ingress. Similarly, sudden changes in pressure – such as jumping into water –
can lead to seal failure.
Critical warning: Never rotate or press the watch crown (side button) when the watch is wet or submerged. Doing so may
allow moisture to enter and damage the internals.
Suitable water exposure examples: Hand washing, Sweat, Outdoor sports in the rain, Accidental drops into water
After any contact with water, dry the watch thoroughly using a clean, lint-free cloth.
Be aware that the IP68 protection level is not permanent. It degrades over time due to usage and wear. If the watch casing gets
worn, suffers mechanical impact, or develops microscopic cracks in its seals, water may eventually penetrate and cause internal
damage.
If the watch comes into contact with: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, perfume, solvents, detergents, acids or acidic food,
insect repellents, sunscreen, oils, hair dye, or other chemicals, immediately rinse the watch with clean lukewarm water and gently
dry it with a soft, lint-free cloth.
These substances can compromise the water resistance by damaging the seals and acoustic membranes.
Examples of Acceptable Water Exposure: Handwashing, Rainy outdoor sports, Sweat, Accidental water splash
