USE INSTRUCTIONS
First Time Use
1. Turn iTalk2 over, and remove the battery cover.
2. Insert one 9-volt alkaline battery, and replace battery cover.
3. Turn iTalk2 on.
4. Press and hold the record button until the recording indicator light turns on.
5. Press and hold one colored switch top. Begin speaking into the microphone after you hear the
beep.
6. When done recording the message, release the colored switch top.
7. Repeat this for the other colored switch top.
8. Press the record button to turn the recording indicator light off.
9. Adjust the volume as needed, and iTalk2 is ready to use.
Using Levels
1. The iTalk2 with Levels provides three recording levels for increased flexibility.
2. Use the Levels switch on the side of the iTalk2 to select a level.
3. Press and hold the Record Button until the Recording Indicator Light activates.
4. Record a message in each message location.
5. Next, use the Levels Switch to choose a different level.
6. Record a message in each message location.
7. Use the Levels Switch again to choose the final level.
8. Record a message in each message location.
9. When done recording be sure to press the record button to exit record mode.
Using Overlays
Two snap switch caps have been included with the iTalk2. Use these clear plastic caps to secure
pictures or symbols to switch tops.
iTalk2 also includes a built-in symbol storage at the top of the device. Pull the clear plastic holder
away from the device to store any picture or symbol up to 2 by 2 inches.
Controlling Toys or Appliances
The iTalk2's Input/Output jacks allow you to activate switch-adapted toys or appliances with this
device.
Plug any switch-adapted toy or appliance into one or both of the Input/Output jacks.
Record a message into the corresponding locations. The Red switch activates siwtch jack 1, and the
yellow switch activates switch jack 2.
Press the switch top to play the message and activate the attached toy or appliance for the length of
the message.
To control an electrical appliance a PowerLink is also required.
