Intended use & Restrictions
This product is a passive seismic sensor that serves as a contact microphone for
detecting lowfrequency surface vibrations of instruments or objects. It connects to
the input of an audio recorder, preamplifier or mixer via an XLR audio port. It is
intended for the artistic field of application and not as a precise measuring instrument.
Mechanical safety instructions
• This microphone has a spike, which poses a risk of injury if used improperly.
• Do not put the spike in the skin, eyes, ears or other parts of the body.
• Do not modify the tip of the spike.
• Do not throw or drop the Geophone on surfaces or people.
• Moving the device during use may damage it or your gear due to high audio levels.
Sharp edges and small parts
• Keep away from children under 14 years of age.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the plug or capsule.
3. Quickstart Guide (Set-up, operation and storage)
• Connect the Geophone to the input of an audio recorder, preamplifier or mixer via
its XLR connector.
• The Geophone is passive and does not require phantom power.
• Use one of the included mounting options to attach it to a surface or instrument
from which you want to absorb vibrations, or use adhesive tape or a suitable
adhesive for hands-free operation.
• Adjust the gain/volume carefully to avoid distortion or feedback.
• Keep the device in its original packaging when not in use.
• Avoid excessive bending of the cable.
• Do not expose to rain or immerse in water.
• Store in a dry place and avoid extreme temperatures.

• CE conformity: This product complies with applicable EU legislation, including
Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety.
• WEEE compliance: This product must be disposed of in accordance with the
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive (2012/19/EU). Do not

This device is covered by a two-year legal warranty under EU consumer law, which
only applies to defects that were present at the time of purchase. In the event of a
warranty claim, please contact your dealer first! Or if you purchased directly from
Exploding Shed, contact support@exploding-shed.com with the proof of purchase.
Returns
Under EU consumer law, you have a 14-day right of return, but only if the device is
unused and in its original packaging. To process the return, contact your dealer and
do not send unsolicited returns, but inquire about the necessary procedure.
