in one piece. However, if needed, please remove one rod at a time. Once
the extension closest to the drill is cleared of the vent hood, disconnect the
rod from the drill and other extensions. Attach the drill to the next extension
and spin the rod until cleared from the vent hood. Continue this process
until all of the extensions and brush are removed from the vent.
STEP 9: Once the system is cleaned, remove tape or clip from the outside
damper, and return any louvers or screens that were taken off. Connect the
vent back to the dryer with the correct material, and slide the dryer back in
place. Ensure that the dryer is plugged in and turn it on. On the exterior of
the house check for airflow from the vent hood. If completely cleaned, there
should be a higher volume of air coming out of the vent hood.
ADDITIONAL CLEANING METHODS
Method 1
If a shop vac is unavailable, the dryer's blower motor can be used to push
the lint out of the vent hood. Remove the vent from the back of the dryer.
Place the Dryer adapter on the back of the dryer and reconnect the vent to
the adapter. The Dryer adapter will stop the brush from coming into contact
with the blower motor and causing damage. Secure with tape or with the
clamp that holds the vent in place. With the dryer running, go to the outside
