mitted. With the ADDR FUNCT switch in the ON position, only receiver/driver commands with
addresses for cameras within a block of 64, which match the settings of S103 and S104, are
transmitted (see Table 1).
DIP switches S102-1 to S102-3 select a filtering action which controls the types of biphase
input data (receiver/driver commands, Console Command Language (CCL) commands, and
switcher/follower data) to be decoded (see Table 1). This selective filtering action applies to
converted data in either the biphase to RS-232 output configuration, or the biphase to
biphase (distribution mode) configuration (S101-3 set to ON). The selective filtering action
does not apply to data being received at the RS-232 interface. All data received from the RS-
232 interface is transmitted on the biphase code outputs when the Code Dist switch is set to
RS-232 Input to Biphase Output mode (S101-3 is OFF). With this capability, the LTC 8780 can
be used to decode and selectively filter biphase input data to RS-232 output, while simulta-
neously converting received RS-232 data to biphase output.
Switch 102-1, labelled RCVR DRVR, determines whether receiver/driver commands received
at the biphase input are transmitted. If this switch is OFF, receiver/driver commands are fil-
tered out of the data stream, and are not transmitted. If the RCVR DRVR switch is ON,
receiver/driver commands are transmitted, subject to the MATCH (S102-4) and ADDR FUNCT
(S101-4) switch settings (see Table 1).
Switch 102-2, labelled XPOINT, determines whether crosspoint data received at the biphase
input is transmitted. If this switch is OFF, crosspoint data is filtered out of the data stream,
and is not transmitted. If the XPOINT switch is ON, all crosspoint data is transmitted. Note
that crosspoint data is not subject to the MATCH (S102-4) and ADDR FUNCT (S101-4) switch
settings (see Table 1).
Switch 102-3, labelled CCL, determines whether Console Command Language commands are
transmitted. If this switch is OFF, CCL commands are filtered out of the data stream, and are
not transmitted. If the CCL switch is ON, CCL commands are transmitted, subject to the
MATCH (S102-4) and ADDR FUNCT (S101-4) switch settings (see Table 1).
Switch 102-4, labelled MATCH, selects the address/block matching feature of the LTC 8780.
This feature is used in conjunction with the ADDR FUNCT switch (S101-4) described above, to
filter out CCL or receiver/driver data with addresses that do not match the settings of
switches S103 (ADDRESS LOW) and S104 (ADDRESS HIGH). If the ADDR FUNCT switch is
ON, the filtering action applies only to receiver/driver data. If the ADDR FUNCT switch is OFF,
the filtering action applies only to CCL data (see Table 1).
S103 and S104 are the Address select DIP switches (see Table 2). These switches apply only if
the MATCH switch (S102-4) is ON. The Address DIP switches are used to set a value for com-
parison against the incoming CCL data (when S101-4 is OFF) or receiver/driver data (when
S101-4 is ON). Only data corresponding to the value set on the Address DIP switches is trans-
mitted. When used as a Satellite Selector Unit in an Allegiant Satellite configuration, the
Address DIP switches set the Satellite's address so that only CCL commands associated with
the Satellite are transmitted (see Table 4). When the LTC 8780 is configured to pass satellite
commands, it also automatically passes the Synchronize Satellite Time/Date CCL command.
The Synchronize Satellite command is a unique CCL command selected in the Time Event
Table of the Allegiant Master Control Software package, or the TC8850 Graphical User Inter-
face (GUI) software. It is used to synchronize the time and date of all satellite locations, to the
