System modes
When voltage applies, the lamps in the light
fitting can be switched on and off with the light
switch.
There are two system modes for emergency
operation
1. Independent system mode
If the terminals on the terminal block 2-3 (wiring
diagrams 1 - 3) are bridged, there will be an
automatic changeover to emergency operation
in the event of a mains failure.
2. Dependent system mode
When removing the bridge 2-3 (wiring diagrams
1 - 3) the emergency light function can be
separately switched on and off via a remote
switch installed outside in the event of a mains
failure. Max. 10 luminaires can be connected to
one remote switch (wiring diagram page 4).
Attention! Remote switch must be
potentional-free, do not connect to external
voltage!
Setting the emergency duration
1.5 hours: Connect both conductors
under terminal 1.
3.0 hours: Connect one conductor under
terminal 1 and one conductor under
terminal 0 (wiring diagrams 1, 2 and 3).

Installation eLLB 20 ...NIB
The respective national regulations as
well as the general rules of engineering
which apply to the installation and opera-
tion of explosion protected apparatus will
have to be observed (IEC/EN 60079-14)!
Transport and storage of the luminaire is
permitted in original packing and specified
position only!
Use only fixed installed cables! If cable
glands of other manufacturer are used the
specifications regarding clamping and strain
relief have to be observed.
Opening and closing the light fitting
– unscrew the slotted screws on the cover
pane and open the pane (see fig. 1 and 2).
– To close the glass pane, press tightly onto
the luminaire housing and hand-screw
(Test torque 1.5 Nm).
Mounting dimensions: see fig. 9
Explosion protected recessed ceiling emergency light fittings
Series: eLLB 20... NIB
Recessed ceiling installation
For recessed ceiling installation into sufficient
capable ceilings the mounting lugs (4 x 18 W/6
x 36 W) have to be screwed with an Allen key
4 mm through the aperture in the mounting
frame. The apertures have to be sealed with
blanking plugs after be used. Observe the
correct ceiling cutout!
When fixing the mounting accessories onto the
light fitting (M8 x18), observe the max. depth of
thread!
Do not use too long screws!
Accessories for mounting: See CCH/CEAG
catalogue.
Mains connection
To open the connection box, turn the green
handle to its stop in the direction of arrow, then
pull it and fold down the flap, see fig. 5 and 6.
– Introduce the cable through the Ex cable entry
M25, see fig. 5.
Use sealing inserts 1,2 and 3 for cables from 8
to 10 mm Ø, sealing inserts 1 and 2 for cables
from 10 to 13 mm Ø and sealing insert 1 for
cables from 13.5 to 17.5 mm Ø.
– Connect the conductors to the terminals PE, N,
L1, (L, L2, L3) in accordance with the terminal
marking (see wiring diagram, page 2+3). With
single connection of the terminal no bending
(loop) of the conductor required! Also tighten
vacant terminals!
The charging conductor L and the
luminaire's mains connection must always
be connected to the same external conduc-
tor of the mains supply!
In case of unused cable entries, remove
their protective cover and close the entries
with a blanking plug (torque of 3.5 Nm).
When closing the gland with a blanking plug,
always use sealing inserts 1+2!
When metal cable entries are used, the
protective caps of the unused entries are to be
removed and the entries to be closed with
certified Ex blanking plugs! (min. IP 66)
Connection of the battery eBK 02
Prior to plug or unplug the connector
(eXLink) the battery must be disconnected
(removed).
Ensure that the position of the key on the plug
corresponds to that of the keyway on the
coupler.
Then turn the plug to the right through approx.
30° until it reaches the stop.
Insert plug into coupler until it reaches the final
stop.
Observe the relevant CCH/CEAG instruction
GHG 570 7001 P0001
(see Internet using www.ceag.de)!
Tighten the coupling nut on the
connected plug and socket.
Fitting the lamps
Caution! Observe the safety instructions
of the lamp manufacturer!
Only use such lamps that have been
certified for these light fittings, see Technical
data and type label!
T12-lamps (Ø 38 mm) will be detected as
faulty and will be cut off by the EOL-circuit.
Bi-pin lamp (G13)
The lamp is to be inserted to its stop into both
holders, see fig. 7 , so that both pins on either
side of the lamp engage in the holder.
Then turn the lamp through 90° to its lock-in
position, see fig. 8, the green surface in the
holder getting visible. Now the lamp is secured
against falling out.

Taking into operation

Prior to operation, check the light fitting
for its proper functioning and installation in
compliance with these operating instruc-
tions and other appli cable regulations
(IEC/EN 60079-14)!
Only carry out insulation measurements between
PE and the external conductor
L1 (L, L2, L3) as well as between PE and N.
– measuring voltage: max. 1 kV AC/DC
– measuring current: max. 10 mA
Caution: An insulation measurement
between L and N must not be carried out
as otherwise the electronics will be
destroyed (mains input fuse in the VE unit).
– Then the luminaire will have to be closed.
– Switch on the mains voltage and then the
light fitting.
– Leave the light fitting switched on for at least
14 hours so that the battery will be recharged.
– After that, release a function test of the
emergency light connection, see 7 . Mainte-
nance, function test.
