1 System Requirements
To install your CHIPDRIVE@, you need an IBM compatible PC,
a CD-ROM drive and one of the following operating systems:
Window* 98 SE
Windows@ Me
Windowe NT 4
Windowe 2000
Windows@ XP
Please note that Windowse NT 4 does not offer USB support.
2 Installing the Software
Youmust install the software first before connectingthe card rea-
der.
Close all open applications before running the installer.
a Insert the Installation CD in your CD-ROM drive. If the Setup pro-
gram does not launchautomatically,start it by double-clicking on
the "setup.exe" file.
@The Wizard will then guide you through the software and driver
installation. Follow the instructions provided by the installation pro-
gram and restart your computer whenthe installation is complete
3 Installing the Herdwere
g Warning: If your card reader has a serial connector .COM port),
turn off your PC before connecting the device. Failure to do so may
result in damages to your PC or the card reader.
3.1 CHIPDRIUEØ micro / extern
Connect the CHIPDRIVE@ to a USB or COM port to your computer.
3.2 CHIPDRIVE' m icro pro
Connectthe CHIPDRIVE@ m icro pro to a USBport to your computer.
3.3 CHIPDRIVE' p inpad/ pinpad pro
The CHIPDRIVEU pinpad / pinpad pro includes a hybrid connector that
allows you to connect the card reader to the serial or USB port on
your PC.
Connect the serial or USB adaptor to tha device before connecting it
to your PC.
g Never change the adaptor cable when the unit is connected to your
