BASIC NATURE WATERFILTER
IMPORTANT

GENERAL
This water filter straw is a high-performance and ultra-light portable
filter which fits in the palm of the hand. Theweight is just 58 g. It can
be used for dinking directly from rivers, lakes and other freshwater
sources while hiking or camping. It can filter up to 100.000 1.The
hollow fiber membrane can remove more than 99-9999 % of bacteria
(E. coli), 99-9 % of parasitesand protozoa(Giardialamblia ground
and Cryptosporidium). Thefilter hasa dualthreadingdesignfor easy
backwashing, UFtransparent control window and a monthly usage
indicator. The versatile nature of the filter allows it to be used in a
variety of ways and it offers easy access to clean and safe drinking
water even in the hardest conditions.

microns.

NOTES AND CAUTIONS
Use the cleanest and clearest water available.
Filtering silty, cloudy, muddy, glacial stream water or tea-colored water that contains visible tannings can clog the
filter.
Discard the first 200ml of water on first use.
DO NOTfreeze it with water inside. Optimum temperature range o oc to 40 oc.
DO NOT use a microwave or dishwasher to clean or disinfect

HOW IT WORKS
A waterfiltration systemis gravity fed and does not require electricity to operate.Similar to medicaldialysis, the 0.1
micron filter uses a cluster of micro-fibrous tubes. Water is drawn through the side walls of the tubes into their hollow
center. Harmful bacteria and protozoa are trapped on the outer walls of the tubes.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
When the filter slows down or clogs, it can be backwashed simply using clean water in a 28 mm bottle in the reverse
direction. Only use clean water for backwashing.
It is recommended to cleanthe filter every10 liters to preventbuild up andto extendthe lifespanof the filter
Before or after long-term storage, sterilize filter to ensure a fresh taste.
STERILIZING THE FILTER
Sterilize you filter before or after long-term storage to ensure fresh tasting water.
Mix 2.5 ml (1/4teaspoon)of dye-and perfume-freehouseholdbleachwith 1 liter of cleanwater.
Filter the bleachedwaterthroughthe filter andstop at a point wherethe filter is fully filled with water.
Wait for 30 minutes.
Filter 1 liter of clean water through the filter.
After cleaning,open the filter capsand let the filter dry at roomtemperaturefor oneweek.
To avoid cross-contamination or damage to the internal fibers or filter, seal the caps at both sides and store it in a
cool and dry location.
REPLACING THE FILTER
This cartridge should be replaced when the flow rate drops below 0.1 liter per minute.
WARRANTY
The water filter comes with limited warranty. This includes any manufacturer defects. A wear and tear or user damage
to the filter is not coveredunderthis warranty. In caseof warranty claim, we will either repairor replacethe defective
product. Therefore please contact service@relags.de.
