OPERATION
REVERSING
Note: the function available only when machine set in «Drilling» position.
Note: set rotation direction for «hammer drilling» and «chieseling» always to the right.
Right rotation: push forward/reverse switch (3) rightward to the extreme position.
Left rotation: push forward/reverse switch (3) leftward to the extreme position.
WARNING: Reversing can be performed only when the spindle is not rotating!
INSERTING AND FASTENING SDS-PLUS BITS
Clean and grease the shank of the accessory, before placing it into the socket!
Insert the bit into the socket (1). Ensure that the socket grooves correspond to the bit shank
channels, and then press the bit inward until an audible "click" is heard.
To remove the bit, pull the sleeve backward, and then take the bit out.
ADJUSTING THE CHISEL POSITION
•
Insert the chisel into the socket as it is described in section "Inserting SDS-Plus bits".
•
Turn the operating mode switch (2) in position «Adjusting the chisel».
•
Rotate the tool by hand to the desired position.
•
Turn the operating mode switch (2) to position «Hammer» and then turn the tool
slightly by hand left and right until locked.
•
Longer operation life of the rotary hammer and higher efficiency can be achieved only
with well sharpened tools for demolition and chiseling.
RECOMENDATIONS FOR OPERATION
Apply moderate pressure during drilling in concrete (approximately 80-100 N). Higher
pressure will not increase drilling efficiency, but it will result in decreasing the operation life
of the machine.
Take the drill bit out of the opening from time to time to remove dust.
Watch out for the stage of blunting of the bit and change it if considerable decrease of
efficiency is observed.
Do not operate the machine in «Hammer drilling» and «Hammer» mode with the switch (3)
in rightmost position.
Depending on the processed material it is possible that the impact energy may decrease
during operation in «Hammer» mode (chiselling and demolishing and in «Hammer drilling»
mode. To restore the maximum impact energy it is necessary to reduce the revolutions by
decreasing the pressure on the switch trigger (6) until the advent of stable impact.
Before drilling large-diameter holes in metal, first drill a small pilot hole.
The rotary hammer is suitable for light-duty chiselling. Higher durability and efficiency can
be achieved only when using sharp chisels.
