Remove the rear panel by unscrewing two screws.
POWER INSTALLATION
Insert four standard size AA batteries (1.5 volts each) into the battery-holder. Check polar-
ity on both batteries and holder. The polarity in the holder is marked (+) and (–). Discharged
batteries will not operate keyer normally, so batteries should be checked for low voltage if at
any time the keyer appears to be operating abnormally. If the keyer is to remain unused for
longer time, you are recommended to remove batteries from the battery-holder.
The ETM-1C is CMOS equipped reducing the idling current below 1 µA. With such an ex-
tremely low drain it is not necessary to use an ON-OFF-switch.
KEY PLUG CONNECTION
Use a shielded Cinch-cable to connect the keyer to the transmitter. With a jumper on the
PCB you can choose between positive (transistor-TX) and negative Gridkeying (tube-TX).
The Dot and Dash Memories can be disabled by a slide switch on the circuit board.
PADDLE CONNECTION
Connect the key-lever with a 3.5 mm Stereo-Jack to the ETM-1C. The tip of the jack is for
the dots and the middle ring for the dashes.
SIDETONE
You can connect a headphone to pin 3 and 4 on the circuit board.
