System operating range
The system SH-12 is designed for a large operating range of many hundred meters. Walls including steel reinforced concrete can be
penetrated. The maximum range can be achieved under optimum conditions and by line-of-sight contact between transmitter and
receiver without disruption by external high frequency disturbances.
The following are possible causes that could reduce range of operation:
Obstructing buildings, vegetation or other factors will substantially reduce the operating range.
The distance between the antenna and the operator's body or other conducting objects (e.g. Earth) may influence the working
range.
Background "electrical noise" could be relatively high so that the signal-to-noise-ratio may decease and therewith the operating
range. Also other devices, with similar operating frequency, operated in the neighbourhood of the receiver may reduce the
sensitivity.
Operating the transmitter adjacent to badly shielded electronic components (e.g. PC's) that can produce electromagnetic distortion,
may severely reduce the range of operation and could result in intermittent operation.
Adjustable and open components should not be adjusted or modified.

Description
The Repeater SH-12 RP extends the range of every product of the 12 series. No further adjustments to existing transmitters or
receivers are necessary in order to use the repeater. All functions of 12 series radio communications, e.g. acknowledgement, low
voltage supply indication, etc. will work further on. The functions of the repeater can be set with the help of the 6 pole DIP switch.
Modifications of the repeater configuration will come into effect after you restart the device.
Repeater Mode
In delivered condition SH-12 RP repeats each message of a 12 series device. If DIP switch #3 is set to „ON", SH-12 RP will only repeat
messages of already learned devices. In this way it is possible to control the transmission direction of messages, to significantly reduce
the radio traffic and to specialize the repeater in specific devices.
Traffic Control
In delivered condition the traffic control is disabled. The repeater will repeat every message of a 12 series device within the shortest
possible time. Setting DIP switch #4 to „ON" will enable the traffic control. In this mode the repeater will only intervene in such cases
when no succesful radio communication without repetition is possible.
LCC Mode
In delivered condition the repeater is set permantently active for optimum reaction time. Setting DIP switch #5 to „ON" will enable the
low current consumption (LCC) mode. In LCC mode the repeater starts in continous operation mode and switches to clocked operation
if no message has been received for 10 minutes after power on or the last received data package. A restart or incoming messages
restarts the continous work operation for further 10min.
The LCC mode may reduce the radio communication speed by up to 600ms.
Control LED's
Incoming messages will be signalized by 1 flash of the LED „R". Outgoing messages will be signalized by 1 flash of the LED „T".
Double flashes indicate low voltage supply of the repeater.

Installation
For the location of the repeater, select a place which is not shielded by conducting objects and position the antenna in such a way that
it is not subject to interference from the rest of the circuit. The helical antenna should not be positioned over or too close to the
electronics.
Before installing the repeater, please test and verify the function at the desired location. The location may have to be changed for
optimum operation.
Supply voltage: Connect the supply voltage to the input 5,0...16,0V DC.
Take care of the technical data and of the supply polarity. Maximum supply voltage is 16V DC. Greater supply voltage
destroys the transmitter.
Function selection
The 6 pole DIP switch gives the user the possibility to configure the repeater. In rare cases it is necessary to change the frequency
because of interference from other devices. In this case set the DIP switch #1 to position "ON" in order to switch to the second
