The test input allows testing to ensure the proper the
Micro MF system is functioning correctly; i.e. the
door control unit can test the light curtain just before
initiating the door movement.
If the test input signal is not required, the white wire
on the emitter edge must be connected permanently
to U .

A test sequence generally consists of the following
steps:
1. The door control unit sets the test input signal
to 'LOW'. This forces the emitter to inactivate all
sensor elements.
2. The output signal of the receiver will follow the
test input signal state and switch to an
'interrupted' state
(approximately).
3. The door control unit checks that the light
curtain output has changed to 'interrupted'
state. This is the main aim of the test
procedure.
4. The door control unit sets the test signal back
to 'HIGH'. This causes the emitter sensor
elements to be reactivated.
5. The Micro MF is back in normal operation. If the
protective field is free, the receiver switches the
output signal back to the 'free' state.

Muting function

If permanent blocking of a sensor element occurs,
the Micro MF recognizes this as a defective or
blocked element. After 45 seconds, this particular
sensor element is blanked and no longer active –
and the light curtain output switches back to the
'free' state. This function allows operation of the
device even with partial damage or blockage due to
vandalism. As soon as the blocked element is free
again it will be activated immediately.
Note: The second optical element from the
bottom is used for synchronization. Therefore, this
element cannot be muted.
Note: By default, the muting function is

implemented for one optical element. If a second (or
more) element(s) is/are permanently blocked, the
output remains in the 'interrupted' state.
