Introduction
The Micro MF light curtain is designed to monitor the
area
between
sliding
automatic gates and personal sluices. It does not
require an external control box because all control
circuits, electronics and optics are fully integrated
into the emitter and receiver edges.
The compact and robust design of the Micro MF -
with a cross section of only 12 mm x 16 mm - makes
it easy to integrate into a variety of gates and sluice
applications. It is designed for static and dynamic
mounting applications.

Functional description
The infrared light curtain Micro MF consists of
emitter (Tx) and receiver (Rx) edges, both of which
have a built-in controller. The Micro MF system
utilizes optical synchronization and no electrical
connection is required between the emitter and
receiver edges.
When mounted, aligned and powered, a detection
area that consists of multiple straight and criss-cross
beams is created between the emitter and receiver
edges. The emitter and receiver must be mounted
so that they directly face each another.
The number of beams is model dependent. By using
a criss-cross beam concept, the total number of
beams is generally higher than the number of
elements used.
If permanent blocking of a sensor element occurs,
the Micro MF recognizes this as a defective or
blocked element. After 45 seconds, this particular
sensor element is muted and no longer active - and
the light curtain switches back to "free". This function
allows operation of the device even with partial
damage or blockage due to vandalism.

doors,
The Micro MF offers a telemonitoring status output
(TMS). Using this output, the number of muted
elements can be determined by the supervising
control unit.
For applications where 14 to 30 VDC is not
available, CEDES offers two power supplies:
A power line converter that accepts voltages
from 85 to 265 VAC. It includes also a relay
output controlled by a PNP or NPN input. In
addition, an EMC filter is also integrated.
A universal power supply (UPS) which also
includes a relay output and EMC filter. Input
voltage range is from 17 to 265 VAC or DC.
Refer to the accessories and ordering information
section for additional details and part numbers (page
18).
