GENERAL
This timing tool set includes indispensable tools for checking and adjusting your engine's control
times or replacing its tooth belt. This set is suitable for Ford Focus 1.6 TI-VCT, engine type HXDA
(2003-2007) and 2.0 TDCI engines, engine types G6DA, G6DB, G6DC (2003-2007).
SAFETY ADVICE
Be careful when working on hot engines!
Beware: Danger of burn by hot manifolds or other components!
Assure the vehicle against unintended starting, before applying the tool.
MANUAL
1. Lift up the front part of the vehicle.
2. Disconnect air mass gauge and pressure switch of the power steering from electric circuit.
3. Disassemble all parts needed to get access to the tooth belt. These parts include the right
wheel of the front axle, the storage tank of the power steering (hose lines can stay mounted on
the tank) air filter body, multi groove belt and its cover. Check the specific vehicle's handbook
for further reference.
4. Turn the crank shaft clockwise up to the first cylinder OT.
5. Remove the sealing plug from the cylinder block.
6. Apply the crank shaft bolt.
7. Turn the crank shaft slowly clockwise until it is closely aligned with the crank shaft bolt.
8. The check marks of the cam shaft should point upwards (12 o' clock).
9. Apply the fixing tool to the edges of the cam shaft
(see fig. 1).
10. The edges of the fixing tool have to be aligned with
the check marks of the cam shaft, exactly.
(Pointed check mark on inlet cam shaft and lined
check mark on outlet cam shaft.)
11. Block the flywheel. (Tool not included)
12. Unscrew the cam shaft pulley nut and remove the
lower cover of the tooth belt.
13. Push back the clutch wheel until the fixing bolt can
be put into the clutch wheel mechanism.
14. Now, the tooth belt can be disassembled. Assembly is carried out in reversed order.

Please check adequate service handbooks for repair, adjustment and controlling, always. This way
you avoid false diagnosis and wrong adjustments which could damage the engine.
