JACKET PROTECTOR SCOTT PURSUIT 250
I. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality Scott product. Before use read carefully the following
instructions regarding legal requirements, user restrictions, choosing your protector, protector
location, and storage, cleaning and checking the products. Please keep these instructions in
safe custody. This specific product line has been developed to offer you the best comfort and
engineered fit. Special materials and construction technologies provide the highest level of
breathability. The light-weight and specific design gives you the freedom of movement you
are looking for.
II.LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
These protectors are considered to be items of Personal Protector Equipment (PPE) and as such
are subject to the requirements laid down by the European directive 89/686/EEC. The CE mark
may be allocated by Scott only once the protector has undergone an "EC Type Examination" or
"Certification Procedure" at a notified European body.
The protectors in this information sheet undergo EC certification at a Notified European Body,
Italcert S.r.l (NB 0426) Viale Sarca 336, 20126 MILANO, ITALY, which certifies that our products
meet the requirements of directive 89/686/EEC.
Back protector
The SCOTT back protectors have been designed within the requirements of the European safety
standard EN 1621-2; the motorcyclist's protective clothing against mechanical impact. The back
protectors have been submitted to impact tests according to EN 1621-2 and have been classified
as type B, level 2.
Elbow , forearm and shoulder guards
The elbow, forearm and shoulder guards have been submitted to impact tests according to EN
1621-1 'E' and 'S' and have been classified as type A.
Chest protector
The chest protector has been submitted to tests according to the standard EN 14021.
III.APPLICATION AREA
Those Scott protectors are designed and manufactured to provide limited protection against
the risk of impact in the event of a fall. They provide this mentioned limited protection only
in areas covered by the plastic plates. Scott Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising
from the use of this product where the pads and the plastic plates are not applied. The Scott
protectors are not known to undergo alteration from contact with sweat or with substances
likely to be found in toiletries and are not known to cause any harm to human skin and body.
The product does not contain any hazardous substances.
Back protector
They can arch both forward and backward to simulate and support natural movement. This
backwards movement prevents the direct transmission of forces to the edge of the protector
such as the neck. They do not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting or extreme
movements.
Warning:
No protector is able to safeguard against all impact.
No back protector offer full protection against injuries.
Spinal injuries will not be prevented by the back protector.
Chest protector
Stone shields offer protection only against lofted stones, debris
IV.USER RESTRICTION
The protector is strictly limited to the use indicated by the pictograms on the approval label.
Bending or twisting the protector excessively is considered improper use and it may cause the
loss of protection properties or breakage of the gear. We recommend that the protector is not
left outside or exposed to high or low temperatures before use. Changes in environmental
conditions such as temperature and wetness could significantly reduce the performance of the
chest protector. Product modifications may cause the loss of protection and therefore, they are
considered as improper use. Any contamination, alteration to the protector or misuse could
dangerously reduce the erformance of the protector.
Scott Sports SA shall not accept complaints or replace protectors that have been used
improperly.

V. CHOOSING THE FIT OF YOUR PROTECTOR
It must be chosen in reference to the size indicated in the following size chart or on the gar-
ment itself. Scott Sports SA shall not accept any complaints arising from the use of an incorrect
fitted protector.

VI. PROTECTION LOCATION
Back protector and chest positioning
For a protector to work properly, it must cover

VII. STORAGE
Hang your gear dry and out of sunlight, away from direct heat sources. Do not left outside
or exposed to environmental elements. Extreme hot and cold temperatures may affect the
performances of this gear. For the storage keep your gear at a temperature between 0°C and
30°C. The gear should be cleaned accurately before putting it away for long periods. Keep it in
its original packaging for the storage and for the transportation. If your product deteriorates as
a result of exposure to heat it or improper storage it is not covered by any Scott warranty.
VIII. CLEANING
Clean your protector with mild soap and water only in accordance with the washing instruc-
tions indicated on the garment itself. Do not machine wash, bleach, and iron or dry clean.
Checking
It is recommended to let regularly control your gear and to replace it at least every three (3)
years. After a strong stroke on the protection it is recommended to replace it. The protection
they offer could be reduced due to mechanical wear or improper use.
Disposal
Dispose of the products in the domestic waste.
Do not mechanically disrupt or incinerate product. This may lead to potential hazards.
