Field of application
The backwash filters TWS DFR and FR can
be retrofitted with SYR's automatic backwash
system.
Design
The backwash interval can be set in a range
from 1 hour and 52 weeks.
It is preset to 25 weeks and 5 days and conforms
with the European standard EN 806, part 5.
As
it
is
battery-operated,
backwash system is mains-power independent,
but can be retrofitted with the power pack
2316.00.905.
When using the automatic backwash system,
connect the tundish of the TWS DFR / FR filter
to a drain pipe (e.g. DN 50 HT sleeve).
Caution: The drain pipe must be able
to collect the drain quantity. Size it
accordingly!
How to insert / exchange
batteries
To insert or replace batteries, push the lower
cover on the front side downwards.
Open the cover (1) and insert or exchange the
batteries (2).
Even when using the power plug, the
batteries shall remain in place for the
event of power failure. They shall be
replaced every 3 years.

To install the automatic backwash system, pro-
ceed as follows:
Prior to installation, make sure that the back-
wash knob/ backwash ball valve is in the initial
position (no backwash).
For verification, turn the knob counterclockwise.
If the knob cannot be turned further, the knob/
ball valve is in the correct position.
The backwash knob is secured from below by
the
automatic
means of a clip, which prevents unintentional
removal.
Pull the clip downwards to remove it from the
guides (1).
Then, remove the backwash knob (2).
Mount the automatic backwash system with the
main axis in vertical position at the spot where
the backwash knob has been removed.
