1 Intended use
This product is an automatic twilight switch for lamps. It enables you to adjust the brightness
level (LUX) as desired. When the ambient light falls below this brightness level, the light turns
on automatically and turns off when the preset time has elapsed or when the ambient light
exceeds the LUX value. This device provides convenient control of lighting.
The product is intended for private use only.
This product complies with the statutory national and European regulations.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product. Using the
product for purposes other than those described above may damage the product.
Improper product use can cause a short circuit, fire, electric shock, other hazards.
Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Always provide these
operating instructions when giving the product to a third party.

For the installation, the following specialist knowledge is required in particular:
The "Five safety rules": Disconnect from the mains; protect against accidental switch-on;
ensure there is no voltage; earth and short-circuit; cover or protect neighbouring live parts.
Use suitable tools, measuring devices and personal protective equipment where necessary.
Analyse measurement results.

Type of power supply (TN system, IT system, TT system) and the corresponding con-
nection criteria (classic earthing, protective earthing, necessary additional measures, etc.)
If you do not know how to connect the product, get an expert to do it for you; do not
attempt to connect it yourself.
5.1 General information
This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. It may become a dangerous play-
thing for children.

5.2 Handling
Please handle the product carefully. Impact, shocks or a fall even from a low height can
damage the product.
5.3 Operating environment
Do not expose the product to any mechanical stress.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours
and solvents.
Protect the product from direct sunlight.
Avoid using the product near strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields, transmitter aerials
or HF generators. Otherwise, the product may not function properly.
5.4 Operation
Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the device.
If you suspect that safe operation is no longer possible, stop using the product immediately
and prevent unauthorised use. Do not touch the product as this may cause a fatal electric
shock! Proceed as follows:
– Disconnect the product from the mains voltage by switching off the respective circuit
breaker or by unscrewing the fuse. Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit break-
er to disconnect all the poles of the mains supply.
– After that, arrange for an expert to disconnect and check the product.
5.5 Connection/mains voltage
Never attempt to modify the electrical components of the product. There is a risk of
a life-threatening electric shock!
Discontinue use of the device if any electrical components are damaged.
Do not modify the electrical components.
Product installation must be carried out in a deenergised state. Turn off the mains supply
by switching off the respective circuit breaker or by unscrewing the fuse. Protect it against
an unauthorised switch-on, e.g. with a danger sign.
Furthermore, turn off the earth leakage circuit breaker to disconnect all the poles from the
mains voltage.
Check the mains connection for absence of voltage using a suitable tester.
The product must only be used when it is mounted in a fixed location. Install the product,
for example, in a suitable flush or wall mounted contact box.
Ensure that the insulation of the housing is neither damaged nor destroyed.
Never touch the product with wet or damp hands! There is a risk of fatal electric shock!
Never overload the product. Observe the information on the maximum load in the "Techni-
cal data" section.
A damaged product may only be repaired by the manufacturer, an authorised service cen-
tre or a qualified specialist to prevent hazards.
6 Installation
Important:
– Risk of life-threatening electric shock! Electrical installation may only be
carried out by a licensed professional.
– Observe the "Safety instructions", especially the "Electrical installation" war-
ning.
