Cleaning
The safety shut-off valve (Float Valve) protruding into the drum must be cleaned
periodically. To do this, immerse the FikVacWet assembly in a mild cleaning or
degreasing solution. After cleaning, ensure that the float can move freely. Use a
compressed air gun to remove the solution and any debris.
If the Reversible FikVacWet is dirty, it can be disassembled for cleaning. Hold the
hexagon with a wrench while turning the cylindrical silencer counterclockwise
using a strap wrench. After removing the silencer, unscrew the threaded plug
with a hook wrench. Remove the spacer and clean it along with the O-ring and
pump housing using a mild cleaning solution. Before reassembly, make sure all
components are thoroughly dry. Reassemble the threaded plug while observing
the orientation of the spacer in the illustration above. Do not overtighten the
threaded plug, as this may cause the spacer to twist and restrict airflow.
The suction hose and attachments should be cleaned after each use.
