Lithiumpolymer Charger 903
Thank you for purchasing the IKARUS Li-Po Charger 903 for your valuable Lithium-Polymer
batteries.
This charger is designed for charging 2 or 3 cell Li-Pos with a constant charge current of
300 mA, 600mA or 900 mA. You may select the charge current for your particular batte-
ry by properly setting the jumper in the area of the connecting wires. The charge current
should NOT exceed 1 C (=capacity of the battery)! The charge voltage is selected by setting
the jumper for either 2 or 3 cells. Do NOT charge a 2-cell Li-Po cell with the jumper in the
position for 3 cells!
Charging
After connecting the charger to a power source a green LED with light up. Now select the
charge current and voltage by inserting the jumpers in the appropriate positions. After con-
necting the battery a red LED will light up. The brightness indicates the value of the charge
current and will continuously decrease during the charge process until it will glow only very
dim when the battery is fully charged.
The maximum charge current is between 0.7 to 1 C (C = battery capacity). This is usually
resulting in a charge time between 1.5 to maximum 2.0 hours, as you need to be aware,
that during the last hour of the constant charging method, the battery is already charged at
90% of its maximum capacity.
It is extremely important not to discharge Li-Ion and Li-Po batteries below a minimum volta-
ge, which varies from manufacturer to manufacturer between 2.5 to 2.8 V per cell.
As soon as you realize power loss during flight, prepare to land without any further delay
and disconnect your battery.

Warning! YOU alone are responsible for the proper handling of your batteries!
ALWAYS protect Li-Po batteries from short circuits and excessive temperature.
ALWAYS check for correct polarity between charger and battery, correct cell and maximum
charge current setting before connecting the battery!
ALWAYS place the batteries on a non-flammable surface and away from any flammable
material (safest place to charge Li-Pos is in an old ammunition container).
ALWAYS monitor the entire charge process.
ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher nearby, when handling Li-Po batteries.
NEVER leave the batteries unattended during charging. Some batteries sold on the market
to not have any safety circuits or vents and may explode when handled wrong.
NEVER operate the batteries above 60 degrees C (140 degree F) neither during charging,
discharging nor during flight. As a matter of fact, during the charge process the battery
should never get hot.
NEVER exceed the max. charge current of 0.7 to 1 C.
NEVER connect any deep discharged batteries (U smaller than 2.5V/cell) to the charger.
NEVER let minors operate this unit without adult supervision
