Utilisation / Use:
i
• Familiarise yourself with the use of the frame and in particular how to lie / sit down in the hammock / hanging chair.
Hammocks and hanging chairs can rotate about their axis or tip, and can also swing out! The frame can tip over due to
swinging or tilting movements. Danger of injury!
• Always sit down carefully and without momentum in the centre of the hammock or hanging chair. Too much momentum or
sitting down off-centre can cause the frame to tip over.
!
• Lie down in the hammock as shown in the diagram below.
• Children should only use the frame exclusively under adult supervision!
• Remove the hammock or hanging chair from the frame after use and store the hammock or hanging chair as described in the
respective instructions.
Care, repair and service life:
• Do not use any cleaning agents which contain solvents to clean the frame. Use water and liquid detergent to clean the surface
of frames.
• Glaze the wooden parts of the frame regularly (at least once a year) with a wood preservative. The wooden parts of the
frame Arcus must be glazed with a special oil for larch wood (at least once a year). Ask for a suitable glaze at a specialist shop.
• The connecting parts of the frames are protected against corrosion by zinc coating. Should contrary to expectations corrosion
occur on these parts, please make sure that they are treated with anti-corrosion paint. The connecting parts of the frame Arcus
are made of stainless steel and do therefore not corrode.
i
• In the autumn and winter months, wood products should be stored in a cool dry place. Keep the wood away from dust and
dirt before storing, to prevent discoloration occurring on the surface. Make sure there is sufficient air circulation in the place
where the product is stored.
Safety notes:
!
• Dispose of packaging foil immediately after unpacking the frame and ensure that it is kept out of the reach of children. There is
acute danger of choking if a child pulls plastic foil over their heads or swallows small pieces of foil!
• Do not alter the construction of the frame.
• In order to set up the frame in a different location, you should lift it right off the ground, asking another person to help you.
Avoid pushing the frame along the floor, as this could cause serious damage.
• The lying or sitting height should not be above 40–50 cm!
• Before each use of the frame check the stability and mechanical security of all plug, chain and screw connections and ensure
that they are not damaged.
• The dimensions of wooden frame components can shrink due to natural wood shrinkage. So please always check the stability
of the connecting screws. Tighten the connecting screws, if necessary.
• If you ascertain damage to the frame, then the frame must not be used until it has been correctly repaired using original
AMAZONAS parts.
• Warning – danger of injury! If you hop, rock, jump or swing in the hammock or hanging chair,
- this can tip over the frame or bearing element;
- it can also lead to a dynamic overload on the frame or bearing element (which may then be so damaged, as a result,
that they no longer have the necessary stability, or else become structurally distorted in such a way that they no
longer show the robustness they had originally);
- it may happen that the user falls out of the hammock or hanging chair.
• Never exceed the given maximum load of the frame. This can damage the frame so badly that its stability is weakened or its
original stability can be affected due to a deformation of its construction. Danger of injury!
• Please ensure that all people who wish to use the frame of the hammock or hanging chair are aware of the instructions for
use above and the safety notes.
• Please keep these instructions for use and the instructions for assembly of the frame at hand, so they can be consulted at any
time, and pass them on to the next user if selling or passing on the frame.
• AMAZONAS shall accept no liability or guarantee claims for use of the frame, hanging chair or hammock for other than the
intended purpose, or non-compliance with the instructions for use.
