The belt should be worn so that it rests on one shoulder and then diagonally wraps around the operator's chest, allowing the tool
to be hooked at hip level (VII).
Preparing the workplace
Before cutting with the pole saw, properly prepare the workplace to minimise the risks associated with the pole saw operation.
Make sure that only authorised persons are present at the workplace.
Ensure good visibility from the workplace; that is why take special care when cutting working in diffi cult terrain conditions, e.g.,
on slopes.
It is forbidden to start work during precipitation and in case of high air humidity, e.g., fog.
Wear protective clothing and personal protective equipment.
Avoid cutting wires, young trees, and wooden beams.
Note that cut branches when falling may bounce off other branches or become blocked between other branches. Prepare an
escape route in case of danger from falling branches. The escape route should also be free of obstructions while working. If
obstructions appear in the escape path during the work, they must be removed before continuing.
Cutting head angle adjustment (VIII)
The cutting head of the trimmer can tilt in relation to the handle. This makes it easier, for example, to cut branches from above.
Changing the angle of the cutting head is possible by pressing the locking button, holding it down and then changing the angle.
The head can be locked in several positions, marked on the housing. Ensure that the head is locked in its new position and that
the lock button has returned to its rest position.
Power supply connection
The machine is supplied only with a short power cord. Use an extension cord for proper power supply. The extension cord should
have rubber insulation of at least the H05RNF type or polyvinyl (PVC) insulation of at least the H05VVF type.
Always use cords intended for outdoor use due to the nature of the machine work. The power cord should have a single socket
matching the machine's plug. It is forbidden to modify the plug or socket to make them fi t. The electrical parameters of the power
supply cord should correspond to the electrical parameters of the tool, listed on the rating plate. It should be noted that the power
cord's cross-section depends on the length of the cord. Follow the instructions below regarding the power cord cross-section:
- 1.0 mm
– cord length not greater than 40 m;
2
- 1.5 mm
– cord length not greater than 60 m;
2
- 2.5 mm
– cord length not greater than 100 m.
2
When preparing for operation and during operation, pay attention to the power cord. Protect the power cord from water, moisture,
oils, heat sources and sharp objects. Lay the cord so that it does not come within the reach of the cutting element. Cutting the
cord may result in electric shock and serious injury or death. Make sure that you do not become entangled in the cord. This can
lead to a fall and serious injury.
Do not overload the power cord, and do not cause any of the cord's section to become tensioned. Do not pull the cord when
moving the tool. Always disconnect the power cord plug from the socket by pulling by the plug and socket housing, never pull by
the cord.
There is an opening in the housing to route the extension cord loop through, and then attach the loop to the hook. Only then,
connect the plug to the socket of the extension cord (IX). This will minimise the risk of pulling the power cord from the machine
housing, e.g. in the event of a sudden jerk.
Turning the pole saw on and off
Ensure that there is suffi cient oil in the tank to lubricate the chain. Remove the guard from the guide bar and chain. Grasp the pole
saw with both hands – by the front handle with one hand and the back handle with the other. Ensure that the chain does not come
into contact with any object or surface. Slide and hold the power switch lock button on the handle with your fi nger. Press and hold
the power switch in this position. The lock button can be released (X). The tool will turn on.
Wait until the motor has reached full speed and make sure the chain runs smoothly on the guide bar before cutting. If you hear
suspicious sounds or vibrations, turn the tool off immediately by releasing the power switch.
The trimmer is turned off by releasing the power switch. Unplug the tool from mains and proceed with maintenance once the chain
has stopped. The power switch does not have a lock to secure it in the "ON" position.
Working with the pole saw
Persons who intend to work with a pole saw for the fi rst time should seek advice on work and safety from a qualifi ed pole saw
operator before starting work. During work, observe the basic occupational safety principles. Consider also the possibility of
kickback in the operator's direction. The pole saw may kick back in the operator's direction when the cutting chain encounters
resistance. To reduce this risk:
Pay attention to the placement of the guide bar top when cutting. It is forbidden to cut with the upper quarter of the guide bar top
(XI).
Cut only with the chain which moves along the bottom part of the guide bar. Only apply the started pole saw to the wood to be cut.
