Oil separator
When the distance between the condensing unit and the evaporator is higher than 10 mt.
it is recommended to use the oil separator, which, by intercepting the oil dragged by the
compressed gas and by returning it to the machine compressor, is designed to provide
the effective lubrication of the moving organs of the compressor. In addition, by
removing or reducing the oil film on the exchange surfaces of the condenser and the
evaporator, it keeps high the coefficient of thermal transmission of this equipment.
Liquid separator
It is located on the suction pipe in the vicinity of the compressor and is designed to
prevent the accidental suction of fluid by the compressor. It is assembled in vertical
position. If the liquid separator is installed, the installer should take into account that it
should be protected both in case of fire and overpressure in conformity with the directive
97/23CE. The calculation of the section of the vent valve should be carried out in
accordance with EN 13136: As regards the choice of the opening pressure of the safety
valve, check the data indicated on the machine label.
Valve to adjust the suction pressure (KVL)
It is designed to keep within acceptable limits the suction pressure of the compressor
when, at the beginning of the freezing cycle, there are high temperatures in the cell. It is
located on the suction pipe in the vicinity of the compressor: It is adjusted at the factory.

Filter (liquid line)
It is located on the liquid line immediately after the reservoir, or after the condenser in
the units which are not equipped with liquid reservoir.
Liquid indicator (liquid line)
It is installed downstream the filter of the liquid line. The indicator should always be
checked when the machine is in operation, if there is a high flow of big bubbles, it may
mean the lack of gas in the system. Otherwise, if the indicator is limpid or if there is a
sporadic flow of bubbles, it means that the gas quantity is correct.
Solenoid valve of the liquid line
It is located just after the filter of the liquid line. It is assembled with the purpose to
interrupt the liquid flow when the machine stops in case the temperature has been
reached and in case of de-frosting.
Solenoid valve of hot gas line
It is installed on the compression phase, located between the compressor and the
condenser. The valve output should be connected to the evaporator input, immediately
after the laminated packet: It is designed to de-frost the evaporator by using the
compressor hot gas.
