9 Getting started
9.1 Check garage door compatibility
Before you install the product, make sure it is compatible with your garage door.
1. Download the compatibility table from www.conrad.com/downloads.
2. Check if your garage door model is in the compatibility table. If not, contact a garage door specialist to
determine if the product can work with your garage door.
9.2 Installing the mobile app
Install the TUYA mobile app on your mobile device to operate and control the product.
1. Download the mobile app "Smart Life - Smart Living" from the Google App Store or the Apple App
Store.
2. Set up a TUYA account.
9.3 Check Wi-Fi signal strength
For the garage door controller to work, it must be connected to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Check the
wireless signal strength at the installation location.
1. Determine the approximate installation location for the garage door controller. Pay attention to the
length of the sensor cable.
2. Place a mobile device connected to your Wi-Fi network near the installation location.
3. Check the Wi-Fi signal strength. If the signal is weak, the garage door controller will not work properly.
Tip:
Install a repeater to improve the signal strength.
9.4 Connecting garage door controller to Wi-Fi and mobile app
For mobile app control, you must add the garage door controller to the app and connect it to a suitable
Wi-Fi network.
Important:
The garage door controller can only be connected to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi networks.
Preconditions:

The TUYA mobile app "Smart Life - Smart Living" is installed on your mobile device.
a
The garage door controller is within the range of the Wi-Fi network.
1. Connect the USB cable to the USB socket USB on the garage door controller and the other end to the
power adaptor.
2. Connect the power adaptor to the mains supply to establish the power supply.
à The indicator light LED lights up.
3. On your mobile device, activate Wi-Fi.
4. Connect your mobile device to the Wi-Fi network to which you intend to connect the garage door con-
troller.
5. Use a pin and hold down the button RESET on the garage door controller until the indicator light LED
flashes.
6. Open the mobile app.
7. Tap on + to add a new product.
8. From the product list, select Garage Door Opener (Wi-Fi).
9. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the garage door controller.

You have added the garage door controller to the mobile app.
à You have connected the garage door controller to the Wi-Fi network.
9.5 Testing the connection
Before you install the garage door controller, test the communication between mobile app and controller.
Preconditions:

The garage door controller is connected to the power supply.

The garage door controller has been added to the mobile app.
1. Open the mobile app.
2. Go to Home > Garage Door.
3. Touch switch.
à A clicking sound on the garage door controller indicates a properly working connection.
à
The absence of a clicking sound indicates a problem with the connection.

10 Installation
10.1 Connecting the garage door controller
To control the garage door motor, you must connect the garage door controller to the motor controller.

A Garage door motor
1. Disconnect the garage door controller from the power supply.
2. Connect the control wire (F) to the socket Motor on the garage door controller.
3. Connect the other end of the wire to the motor controller of the garage door motor (A).
10.2 Installing the door sensor
By installing the door sensor, the garage door controller can relay the opening and closing statuses to the
mobile app.

G Sensor cable
1. Disconnect the garage door controller from the power supply.
2. Connect the sensor cable to the socket Sensor on the garage door controller.
3. Install the sensor of the sensor cable (G) and the magnet (I) so that when the garage door is closed,
the sensor and the magnet overlap. Observe the diagram when installing.
4. Secure the sensor cable and magnet.
