9. INITIAL ACTIVATION
▶ Ensure the installation is completely connected. Mount all components.
▶ In turn, check a-, b- and P-conductor against each other for short circuits.
▶ Switch on the mains voltage.
• The ExtU address must be set at the main external unit.
• This is carried out using the service unit 10-870 or the Niko Configuration SW. If the ExtU address is not fixed, identical addresses will be formed in the
main external unit's and one external unit's slave-installation. This will cause a poor quality speech connection to both external units, as well as a whistling
sound.
• Set the value of the ExtU address between 50 and 63. When connecting several main external units to one 10-803, their ExtU addresses must be set
differently.
ATTENTION! Please note: a speech connection can only be established with a main external unit by a slave-installation when the main
external unit in question has previously sent a door call.
The connection between the 10-803 and the slave-installations runs via the lines 1, 2, 3, 4. The line is always connected in parallel with the bus on an external
unit of the slave-installation. If call is made at the main external unit, this is carried to all lines. The slave-installation confirming the ring signal, is connected
with the main external unit. Ring sig-nals from the slave-installations are ignored by the 10-803. The connection is always established from the main external
unit to the slave-installation.
10. CONFIGURATION
10.1. Factory settings
The device is equipped with an EEPROM, in which the following default settings are saved:

11.1. Changing the operating mode
Switching from operating mode SLAVE to MASTER or from MASTER to SLAVE follows the same procedure. The steps are the following:

12. WARNINGS REGARDING INSTALLATION
• The installation should be carried out by a registered installer and in compliance with the statutory regulations.
• This user manual should be presented to the user. It should be included in the electrical installation file, and it should be passed on to any new owners. Additional
copies are available on the Niko website or via the Niko support service.
• During installation, the following should be taken into account (non-exhaustive list):
- the statutory laws, standards and regulations.
- the technology currently available at the time of installation.
- this user manual, which only states general regulations and should therefore be read within the scope of each specific installation.
- the rules of proper workmanship.
