Remove the shaft on a regular basis. Detach the arm in the hull (see figure 11), and then pull the shaft out of the
back of the boat. Clean the shaft and lubricate it with a thin layer of biodegradable lubricant (C). Replace the shaft by
following the above steps in the reverse order.
Metal screw connections must be secured with lock nuts or a drop of thread-locking fluid to prevent them
from becoming loose.
