Put unused fuel in a vessel designed and approved for such
use, and store it in a dark, cool room.
Fuel mixing table
Mixing process: 40 parts petrol to 1 part oil
Example:
0.5 litres
12.5 ml 2-stroke oil
Preparing the fuel-oil mixture
• Fill about half of the required amount of petrol into the en-
closed mixing container (27).
• Add the 2-stroke oil in accordance with the fuel mixture table.
• Pour in the remaining quantity of petrol.
• Close the container and shake the fuel-oil mixture thoroughly.
Note
Do not use a fuel-oil mixture that has been stored for more
than 90 days.
Fuel-oil mixtures that have not been used for one month or
longer can clog the carburettor or impair engine operation.
Keep containers for fuel and fuel-oil mixture separate to avoid
misfuelling with normal petrol.
10.3

Fill in fuel-oil mixture

WARNING
Only fill the fuel when the engine is switched off and has
cooled down. There is a risk of fire!
Do not smoke when refuelling the device.
• Set the device down on a flat surface with the fuel filler cap
facing upwards.
• Always clean the area around the fuel tank cap (23) before
filling to prevent dirt from falling into the fuel tank (22). Use
a dry, lint-free cloth for this purpose.
• Carefully open the tank cap (23) to relieve any possible
overpressure in the fuel tank (22).
WARNING
Only refuel the tank outdoors or in sufficiently ventilated
rooms.
• Shake the container with the fuel-oil mixture thoroughly.
• Open the fuel tank carefully and allow any overpressure to
dissipate first.
• Turn the chain oil tank cap (23) anti-clockwise and open it.
The fuel tank cap (23) is connected to an anti-loss device in
the fuel tank (22) and thus cannot fall off.
• Pour the fuel mixture into the fuel tank (22). Do not spill fuel
when refuelling and do not fill the fuel tank (22) to the brim.
• Close the tank cover (23) again.
• Clean the tank cap and the surroundings. Wipe up spilled
fuel immediately.
• Check the tank and fuel lines for leaks.
WARNING
Observe the safety instructions!

WARNING!
Please observe the legal provisions from the noise protection
ordinance.
CAUTION!
Move at least three meters away from the refuelling area be-
fore starting the engine.
11.1

Starting the engine

Set the device down on a solid surface before starting the
engine.
Note
Always pull the start pull cord (20) out straight. Hold the han-
dle of the start pull cord (20) firmly when the pull cord (20)
winds back in. Never let the start pull cord (20) whip back in.
This can result in damage.
Do not pull out the start pull cord (20) all the way out. This
prevents the starter cable breaking.
11.1.1 Starting with a cold engine (Fig. 1, 10, 11,
12, 13)
1.
Set the choke lever (15) to the position
2.
Press the fuel pump (primer) (19) 7 times. (Fig. 12)
3.
Hold the device firmly by the top handle (9) and pull the
start pull cord (20) out slowly until you feel the first resist-
ance.
4.
Now pull the start pull cord (20) several times more force-
fully until the engine starts briefly and then stops again.
5.
As soon as the engine has stopped, actuate the throttle
(8). The choke lever (15) will automatically spring back to
the "warm start" operating position
6.
Now pull the start pull cord (20) again and the engine
should start.
7.
Allow the device to warm up for 1-2 minutes.
Note
The device has an auto-choke function. As soon as you oper-
ate the throttle lever (8), the choke lever (15) jumps into posi-
tion
.
With high outside temperatures, it may be necessary to start
the engine without the choke even when the engine is cold!
11.1.2 Starting with a warm engine (Fig. 1, 10)
(The device stood still for less than 15–20 minutes)
1.
The choke lever (15) does not have to be set to the
position if the engine is warm.
2.
Hold the device firmly by the top handle (9) and pull the
start pull cord (20) out slowly until you feel the first resist-
ance.
3.
Now pull the start pull cord (20) quickly. The device
should start after 1–2 pulls. If the device has still not start-
ed after 6 pulls, repeat the procedure described under
"Starting the engine when cold".
