Assembly and operation
Do not pull or twist the pendulum hanger while hanging the pendulum.
Your clock may not run properly if damaged.
Step 6:
Hang the clock on a wall by means of a hook or a screw. The clock needs to
hang as vertical as possible.
Step 7:
Open the clock face cover to wind the clock. The work spring key hole is
located on the right; the strike spring key hole is located on the left. Insert the
winding key into the work spring key hole. The first time you wind your clock
only rotate the winding key 2 ½ full turns in the direction of the arrow. Each
time after that you wind the clock with 10 full turns or until it is taunt, which
ever occurs first. The clock should now run for up to 31 Days without
rewinding.
Do not overwind.
Step 8:
Set the correct time by rotating the minute hand clockwise or counter
clockwise without considering the chimes for hours or half hours. The hour
hand will follow when you rotate the minute hand. If the chime is released, be
sure to let the clock strike the hour.
Do not set the time by moving the hour hand itself.
Step 9:
Open the lower paned door of the cabinet and start the pendulum. The clock
will begin ticking normally.
Step 10:
To a certain degree every mechanical clock must be adjusted. To make, if
necessary, an adjustment in the rate your clock keeps the time, hold the
pendulum firmly in one hand and turn the regulation nut under the pendulum
bob with the other hand. If you turn the nut to the right it will raise the bob and
cause the clock to run faster. Turn it to the left and it will run slower. As a rule
of thump you can assume that one turn is equal to 48 seconds in 24 hours.
