First Use of the Kettle
Dispose of any non-reusable packaging material properly or store it in a safe location.
Please note this material presents a choking hazard to infants! Before using the ma-
chine for the first time, fresh water should be boiled in it twice for cleaning. Do not use
any additives or detergents.
Use
Place the device on a flat surface.
Fill the kettle with water. Do not overfill. Use the water level indicator. The water
level must be between the Max and Min marks.
Close the lid. The kettle is equipped with a steam sensor, for this reason it can not
switch off correctly when the lid is open.
Place the kettle on the base.
Electric Connection
Check whether the electrical voltage that you intend to use is the same as that of
the device. Details are to be found on the label on the base.
Only connect the device to a properly installed, earthed 230V~ 50Hz mains socket
with protective connection (PE).
Switch on the device with the mains switch (2). The control light (3) shows that the
water is being boiled.
Keep the lid closed at all times during use.
After boiling, the device switches off automatically. Disconnect the kettle from the
mains electricity supply. Keep the lid closed when pouring the water to prevent in-
juries by hot steam.
Cleaning
Always remove the plug from the mains supply before cleaning the kettle.
The exterior of the device should be cleaned with damp cloth without additives. Do
not use abrasives or solvents.
Decalcifying
The frequency, in which the unit must be decalcified, defends on how often the unit is
used. Decalcify the unit every 3 – 4 months. If the unit switches off before the water
boils, it should be decalcified. Do not use vinegar, but use a common lime-acid based
decalcifying agent. Follow the instructions on the package of the decalcifying agent.
