Operation
Connecting and Installing the Unit
Use the cable lugs of the red and black connecting wires to connect
the unit to the 12 V battery of your vehicle. Connect the red wire to
the plus terminal and the black wire to the minus terminal of the
battery.
If you intend to install the unit permanently to the battery, attach the
adhesive surface on the back of the unit at a suitable place in the
engine compartment. The surface has to be dry and free from dust
and grease. Before attaching, remove the protective paper from the
adhesive surface.
Testing the Battery
With the ignition off, press the button labelled PUSH.
If no LED lights up, the battery voltage is lower than 11.6 V. The
battery is not fit for use and should be replaced.
If the red LED "POOR" lights up, the battery voltage is 11.6 V. The
battery is in a poor state and should be replaced or recharged
before the next use.
If the yellow LED "FAIR" lights up additionally, the battery voltage
is 12.0 V. The battery is still usable, but it should be recharged or
replaced in the near future.
If the green LED "GOOD" lights up additionally, the battery voltage
is higher than 12.5 V. The battery is in good condition.
Testing the Charging System
You can also test the condition of the charging system. To do so,
turn on the engine and press the button labelled PUSH.
If the green LED "Charger/Alternator" lights up additionally, the
charging voltage is at least 13.5 V and the charging system is in
good condition.
