Maintenance after each Use

ATTENTION! Before cleaning or inspecting the hedge trimmer, make sure
that engine has stopped and cooled down. The hedge trimmer and the blade
bar will become hot during use. There is risk of burns!
Before maintaining the hedge trimmer, remove the spark plug socket from the
unit.
Always wear gloves when handling the blade bar.
Cleaning the Blade Bar
Remove dirt from the blade bar with a scrubbing brush or a small hand
broom.
To remove rosin residues, mix some paraffin and engine oil and wipe off the
blade bar (mixture ratio Paraffin : Engine Oil = 50 : 50).
Lubricating the Blade Bar
Preferably lubricate the blade bar
every 4 hours of operation.
1. Lightly loosen the bolt at the rear
side of the blade bar and apply a
few drops oil into the opening.
2. Re-tighten the bolts and nuts.

Disassembling and sharpening the Blade Bar

Regularly check the cutting teeth of the blade bar and, if necessary sharpen the
teeth. A dull blade bar will overload the hedge trimmer.
The blade bar assembly consists of the upper blade and the reciprocating blade.
These blades are fixed in place by the blade guard and two plates.
1. Disassemble the blade bar as shown in the explode diagram. When the parts
are properly oriented, smooth assembly is assured and no part will be forgot-
ten or can get lost.
