Description
Theunitisaphotoelectricsmokealarmdevice.Withthephotoelectrictechnology,it
ismoresensitivetodetectingslowsmolderfires.
Installation
Activation
Pressthetestbuttonandholditformorethan3secondsuntiltheLEDison,and
releaseitwithinthenext2seconds.Theunitwillgeneratea"beep",indicatingthat
itisactivatedandgoesintoworkingmode.
Installation
•Removethefixingplugfromthebracket(useascrewdriverifnecessary)
(Diagram1).
•Installthebracketontheceiling(Diagram2).
•Fitthealarmonthebracketandturnthealarmbodyclockwise,untilitmatches
withthebracket.
•Insertfixingpluginthegapbetweenthebracketandthebottom(Diagram3).
•Pressthetestbuttontotesttheunit
Do not install smoke alarm devices in the following locations
•Nearappliancesorareaswherenormalcombustionregularlyoccurs(kitchens,
nearfurnaces,hotwaterheaters).
•Inareaswithhighhumidity,suchasbathrooms.
•Nearairreturnsorheatingandcoolingsupplyvents.Installatleast3feetaway
fromtheseareas.Theaircouldblowsmokeawayfromthedetector,whichmay
causefailuretoalarm.
•Inroomswheretemperaturesmayfallbelow0˚Corriseabove40˚C,orwhereair
humidityishigherthan93˚C.
•Inextremelydusty,dirty,orinsect–infestedareas.
Operation
Testing
Youcantestthedetectorbypressingthetestbutton.Testthealarmweeklyto
ensureproperoperation.Thiswillsoundthealarmiftheelectroniccircuitry,horn,
andbatteryareworking.
DO NOT useanopenflametotestyouralarm,youcoulddamagethealarmor
ignitecombustiblematerialsandstartafire.
CAUTION: Duetotheloudness(85decibels)ofthealarm,alwaysstandan
arms-lengthawayfromtheunitwhentesting.
LED indicators
•Workingmode:theredLEDflashesonceevery40seconds.Thisindicatesthat
thesmokealarmdeviceisoperatingproperly.
•Alarmmode:theredLEDflasheseverysecond.Thisindicatesthatyouareeither
pressingthetestbuttonorthatthedetectorisgoingintoalarm.
•Silence(Hush)mode:theredLEDflashesonceevery8seconds,indicatingthe
smokealarmdeviceisinthealarmsilence(Hush)mode.
Alarm silence (silence mode)
•Whiletheunitisalarming,youcanpushthetestbuttonandpausethealarm
forapproximately10minutes.TheredLEDwillflashonceevery8seconds.
Thisindicatesthatthesmokealarmdeviceisrunninginthesilencemode.
•Thesilencefeatureistobeusedonlywhenaknownalarmcondition,suchas
smokefromcooking,activatesthealarm.
•Thesmokealarmdevicewillautomaticallyresetafterapproximately10minutes.
If,afterthisperiod,particlesofcombustionarestillpresent,thealarmwillsound
again.
•Thealarmsilencer(silencemode)canberepeateduntiltheairhasbeencleared
oftheconditioncausingthealarm.
CAUTION: Whileextremesmokedevelopmentthesilencemodewillbedeactivated
Maintenance, Cleaning and Battery charge level
•Inadditiontoweeklytesting,thealarmrequiresaperiodiccleaningtoremove
dust,dirt,anddebris.
•Useavacuumcleanerwiththesoftbrush.Vacuumallsidesandcoversofsmoke

•Undernormalconditionsthebatterywilllastupto10years
•Wheneverthebatteryfallsbelowacertainvoltagelevel,thealarmwillbleepand
theLEDlightwillflashevery40seconds.
•Whenthedetectorbleepsthefirsttime,thealarmwillstilloperateatfullcapabi-
