4K Wireless Screen Sharing Dongle

1 Intended use
The product is a 4K wireless screen sharing dongle. Use the product to wirelessly stream the screen content
of your smartphone or tablet to a display. You can use two ways to stream content:
Direct streaming: you connect the source device to the dongle
Indirect streaming: you connect source device and dongle to the same WLAN network

The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors.
If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be damaged. Improper use
can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards.

Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third
parties only together with the operating instructions.

5.1 General information
The device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. These may become dangerous playing
material for children.
If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical
support service or other technical personnel.
Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only be completed by a technician or an authorised repair
centre.
5.2 Handling
Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the
product.
5.3 Operating environment
Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
Protect the product from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, vapours and solvents.
Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
Protect the product from direct sunlight.
Do not switch the product on after it has been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The condensation
that forms might destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before you use it.

5.4 Operation
Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the product.
If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. DO NOT attempt to repair the product yourself. Safe operation can no longer be
guaranteed if the product:
– is visibly damaged,
– is no longer working properly,
– has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
– has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
5.5 Connected devices
Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices which are connected to the
product.

7 Connecting dongle to display device
1. Plug the HDMI connector of the dongle into a free HDMI port on your display device (television, video
projector, monitor). Use the HDMI extender cable if necessary, to connect the dongle to the display
device.
2. Connect the USB cable enclosed to the USB Type-C
3. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to a USB port on your display device or a suitable USB power
adapter.
4. Change the input source on your display device to the HDMI port used.
As soon as the dongle has booted up, the start screen shows on the display device.

8 Direct streaming
With direct streaming, you directly connect the source device (example: smartphone) to the dongle to
stream. Direct streaming allows you to stream without a WLAN connection.
Important:
Some Virtual Private Network (VPN) services might cause the connection between dongle and source
device to fail. Disable the VPN service on the source device, if necessary.
8.1 Streaming from Android devices by direct connection
Streaming from Android source devices makes use of the Miracast protocol and the screensharing functions
on the device.
Notes:
Producers of Android devices use different names to refer to the Miracast protocol and the screen
sharing functions on their devices. There are also differences in screen sharing support among Android
devices.

1. Connect the source device to the ad-hoc WLAN of the dongle. Use the WLAN name and password that
are displayed on the display device.
2. Enable the wireless screen sharing function on the source device.
3. Connect to the dongle by selecting the dongle ID shown on the display device. Example: Renkforce-
D8EF19.
The screen of the source device shows on the display device.

8.2 Streaming from Apple devices by direct connection
Streaming from Apple iOS source devices makes use of Apple AirPlay.
Preconditions:

The dongle is connected to a display device.

The LED indicator on the dongle is flashing.
1. Connect the source device to the ad-hoc WLAN of the dongle. Use the WLAN name and password that
are displayed on the display device.
2. Tap AirPlay on the source device and enable Mirroring.
3. Under AirPlay on the source device, connect to the dongle by selecting the dongle ID shown on the
display device. Example: Renkforce-D8EF19.
The screen of the source device shows on the display device.
