Before the first use
There must be no highly flammable objects such as curtains near the place of
installation.
• Make sure you have removed all packaging materials from the appliance, griddles (3) and
other components.
• Clean the appliance and griddles (3) as described in "Care and cleaning" before the first use.
• The appliance should be placed on a stable and heat-resistant surface.
Mains connection
Before plugging the appliance into the mains socket, ensure that the voltage indi-
cated on the nameplate of the appliance matches the actual mains voltage. If not,
do not connect the appliance to the mains. If the supply voltage is incorrect, serious
damage and danger to the user may result.
Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, make sure that it is turned off
to prevent its unintentional start-up. Set the on/off switch (8) to "0".
The appliance must be plugged into the mains socket which is close by so that the
appliance can be quickly and safely disconnected in an emergency.
• Unwind the power cord completely.
• Plug the power plug into a mains socket.
Operation
Always turn off the appliance and unplug it from the mains supply before installing or
removing the griddles (3) or other components.
The griddles (3) and adjacent surfaces get hot during operation and remain so for
quite a while after switching off the appliance. Do not touch them to avoid burns! Use
heat-resistant gloves if necessary.
Never place any objects other than food on the griddles (3). The griddles (3) must
not be covered with aluminium foil or other materials. This could cause the appliance
to overheat.
The appliance must not be used with metal tools or other sharp-edged items. These
items can damage the anti-stick coating of the griddles (3). Only use tools or items
made of wood or heat-resistant plastic.
The griddles (3) can be placed with their smooth or grooved side.
• Rub the griddles (3) lightly with oil or butter if necessary.
• Switch on the appliance by setting the on/off switch (8) to "I".
• When the appliance is switched on, the POWER indicators (6) light up.
• The appliance enables separate temperature adjustment for the griddles (3) using the
temperature controllers (5). The maximum temperature setting is 230 °C.
• The griddles (3) are preheated to the set temperature.
• Once the griddles (3) have reached the preset temperature, the READY indicator (7) goes off.

• You can now place food on the griddles (3) and prepare it as you wish. Make sure to flip the
food being grilled halfway through cooking. To do this, use suitable tools.
Ensure the food to be grilled is cut into pieces that are up to 25 mm thick.
• Once the food is cooked, take it out of the griddles (3) and switch off the appliance by setting
the on/off switch (8) to "0".
• Turn the temperature controllers (5) down to a minimum.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains supply.
• Let the appliance cool down and clean it as described in "Care and cleaning".
Care and cleaning
Clean the appliance after each use.
Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket before cleaning. The appliance,
the power cord and the power plug must not be immersed in water or cleaned in a
dishwasher, with a steam cleaner, etc.
Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions, as
10
these may damage the casing or cause the product to malfunction.
9
Never clean the griddles (3) with metallic, abrasive or sharp-edged items to avoid
8
damaging the anti-stick coating.
• Pull the oil drip trays (10) out of the side holders and drain oil from them.
• Push the griddle releases (9) and remove the griddles (3) by pulling them upwards.
• Push the fan grille releases (1). The fan grilles (2) will fold inwards and can be removed from
the guides.
• Slide the hood (4) sideways out of its holder in the opposite direction of the arrows.
• You can now clean the griddles (3) and oil drip trays (10) in the dishwasher or rinse by hand.
• Rinse other components that have been removed by hand. Do not clean them in the
dishwasher!
• Wipe the appliance with a damp cloth and then rub it dry.
• The removed components should be reassembled in reverse order after cleaning and drying.
• All parts should be replaced in position and locked in place.
