OPERATION GUIDE
Insert the batteries into the back of the device. After turning it on, the device will
be calibrated at A4 = 440 Hz.
1: Button functions
a) Power on/off: Press button 1 "On/Off" to turn the tuner on or off. The display
and the LEDs will be lit and the device will be in tuning mode.
b) If no signal is detected for 3 minutes, the device will turn itself off.
c) The tuning mode can be changed successively by pressing button 2 "Mode":
chromatic, guitar, bass, violin, ukulele. Note: Flat tunings are not available in
chromatic mode.
2: Tuning
a) Place the tuner's microphone (MIC) close to the instrument so you can easily
read the display. Connect your electrically amplified instruments using a
6.3 mm (1/4") jack cable to the input to achieve better results.
b) Select the tuning mode or instrument you want to tune using button 2.
c) Play the string you want to get in tune. The tuner recognizes the note
automatically and shows it in the display.
d) Make sure the right string is shown in the display. For example, if the b
string, i.e. the second string is played in guitar mode, but "1E" is shown
in the display, the string is too high and has to be tuned down. If "3G" is
displayed, it is too low and has to be tuned up.
e) Once the tuner recognizes a tone, it will be shown in the display with its
name and string number. If the pitch needle is left of the middle, the pitch
is too low and a "b" will be displayed next to the note. If the pitch needle is
right of the middle, the pitch is too high and a "#" will be displayed next to
the note. Once the correct pitch is reached and the indication needle is in
the middle, the display color will turn green.
f) After tuning all the strings, check each string's tuning again, as the strings
can influence eachother's tuning.
3: Change reference tone
By pushing button 3 "A4", you can change the reference tone incrementally
from A = 430 Hz to A = 450 Hz.
