Einbauanweisung /Installation Instructions
VW Bus T5 - HR01-X046A02
coil over 29267-3
Warning: Failure to follow these installation instructions could result in damage to the car and
personal injury. In this case H&R does not accept any responsibility.
Note: Fitment requires technical knowledge, skills and special tools, therefore it should be done by a suspension
specialist. For fitment of the shock absorbers into the car refer to the vehicle manufacturer´s handbook and use
the stipulated tightening torques. Please keep these fitting instructions with your vehicle documents and forward
them when selling your car/suspension.
Warning: To ensure that no damage is done to the shock absorber, do not clamp or hold it in a vice. For safety
reasons, the spring should only be compressed with proper spring compressing equipment.
Note: Prior to fitment check that type of front axle fixation of your car and the suspension are the same:
Coil over suspension 29267-3: cylindrical clamp (pic.1, left)
Coil over suspension 26267-2: brackets (pic.1, right)
Both fixations are with two bolts and nuts!
Attention: Please check - prior to fitment - the dimension between the brake hose holder brackets, pic. 2. It
must be 135 mm (5.3") or smaller; the brackets have to be bent to this dimension if necessary. Disregarding
this advice may lead to a contact of brake hose and wheel and thus damage the brake hose!
Note: On the front replace the OE bump rubber and dust cover by the co-packed bump rubber/dust cover
assembly and the rubber washer (black); prior to assembly of the shock absorber, screw out the damping force
adjuster unit, pic. 3.
Note: In case it is originally fitted discard the black plastic ring (VW part no. 7H0412143) from the support
bearing prior to fitment, pic. 4, left. Fit support bearing and OE nuts for top pin in inverted sequence of
disassembly, pic 8. (The tall nut attaches the support bearing to the strut and the lock-nut attaches the assembly
to the car body.) Wrong fitment will lead to knocking noises.
After installation of the shock absorber in the car, screw on the damping force adjuster unit by hand at low
hand strength, pic.5. First check that the adjuster is still in its open position (if required adjust to the
left/counter clockwise!), then tighten with 2 Nm, pic.6. Discard the OE plastic cap on top of the shock absorber
For damping adjustment first go clockwise/to the right to fully closed position=click one= stiffest adjustment,
again at low hand strength. Then adjust to required click.
Adjustment recommendation: click 3 (good ride and handling)
Pic.9 shows the height adjustment dimension
Rear height adjuster sits on the cylinder on top of the spring, pic.7. It is attached to the vehicle cone with six
set screws. Rear height adjuster can only be adjusted by hand (and not with the hook spanner) after disassembly
of the rear spring.
Attention: After fitment wheel alignment, headlights and brake-power regulator have to be checked
and adjusted to the factory specifications if necessary.
