Operational Rules "Yellow Cube"
1. To guarantee an operation free from any interferences, the generators must be run at
grounded networks as follows:
Generator EUR
220-240V
50-60 Hz
6 -16A
Generator INT
90-260V
50-60 Hz
6-16A
The lamp heads work in all countries (90-260 V). It should always be observed that the lamp
heads are protected by the right fuse, and also that the right modelling lamp heads are
taken. The correct fuse is shown on the instructions of the modelling lamps or the fuse table
at the lamp head.
2. If the generator wasn't in use for some month it should be plugged in the mains for a few
hours before use (doesn't matter if with or without a lamp head) .For about one hour the
lowest flash power should be programmed, then on position 5 for another hour more and in
the end the highest position 9 should be taken. The formatting is finished, when the green
LED of the FLASH TEST –button doesn't flicker anymore. Instead of flickering it blinks slowly
in sequences of approx. 30 sec. After formatting the flash can be ignited.
3. In case you won´t use a generator for a longer time, you should connect him to a power
fuse without a lamp and start up the flash energy 1 min. starting with position 1 up to position
9. Then you have to shout off the generator on position 1. Now you can store the equipment
for about 4 weeks without connecting it to power.
4. Lamp plugs, spacers and flash tubes shouldn't be stuck or pulled while the generator is
switched on.
To guarantee the best possible contact of the pins, the plugs always have to be secured by
turning the ring at the plug clockwise as far as it will go.
5. While working with stand-by-units it always has to be observed that only asynchrone units
are used.
ATTENTION: The power should have double the power of the yellow cube you want to
connect it with. Due to a surge voltage during the recharging, synchrone units would destroy
the electronic inside of the generators.
6. In case the fuse on the generator ( Yellow Cube 800E, 1600E, Mini Cube 400I and 400E
only) is burned through, you are able to exchange the defect fuse with the help of a
screwdriver. A 20 amp fuse is needed. The Yellow Cube 800I, 1600I and 2400I have their
fuse in the equipment. In case the fuse falls the circuit breaker (E) will be activated. When
the generator is able to work within a few moments you can push in the button and keep on
working.
