STARTUP PROCEDURE

Checks prior
to
AC power connec-
tion

Check setting of
line
voltage selector
l42l.lt
it does not match your local line voltage,
it
can
be
adjusted with
a
screwdriver
in
which
case it is absolutely essential
to
check the
rating
of the power
fuse. Disconnect
the
power cord and remove cover of
line
volt-
age
selector [48] by unfastening
one
screw
with
a
Philips screwdriver.
The
recom-
mended fuse ratings are also listed on the
underside of this
cover.

Startup preparations

Check power connection according to Sec-
tion
1.1.1.

Connect antenna (refer to Section
4.2,
an-
tennas).
-
Establish
audio
connections:
OUTPUT FIXED
:
socket
with fixed output
level. The 8251
amplifier can
be
connected
to this
output.
OUTPUT VARIABLE
:
socket
with
adjust-
able output level
With
this output the tuner
can be matched to any amplifier.
DIN socket
:
for
devices equipped with
standard DIN
input.
Either an amplifier (same level as OUTPUT
FIXED)
ora tape recorderwith DIN
inputcan
be connected to this socket.

Connect tuner
to AC
outlet. The
DIRECT
LED
[11]
(stand-by
pilot
lamp) turns on
as
soon
as
the tuner is connected.
