a) General
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is not permitted for safety and
approval reasons (CE). Do not disassemble the product.
• Any maintenance or repair work may only be performed by an expert.
• Do not leave packaging material carelessly lying around, since it could become a dangerous
plaything for children.
• If you are not sure about the correct operation or if questions arise which are not covered by the
operating instructions, please do not hesitate to contact our technical support or another special-
ist.
b) Power adapter
• The design of the power adapter complies with Protection Class II. Use only a standard mains
socket as the power source for the power adapter.
• The mains socket into which the power adapter is plugged must be easily accessible.
• Do not pull the power adapter from the mains socket by pulling on the cable. Hold it on the sides
of the casing and pull it out of the mains socket.
• Do not touch any power adapter that shows signs of damage; there is a danger to life from
electric shock!
First, switch off the mains voltage to the socket to which the power adapter is connected (switch
off at the corresponding circuit breaker or remove the safety fuse or switch off at the correspond-
ing RCD protective switch, so that all poles of the mains socket are disconnected).
You can then unplug the power adapter from the mains socket. Dispose of the faulty power
adapter in an environmentally friendly way, do not use it any more. Replace it with a power
adapter of the same design.
c) Operation
• This product is not a toy. Devices powered by mains voltages should not be used by children.
Therefore, be especially careful when children are around.
Use the product where it is out of the reach of children.
• The product is intended for use in dry, indoor locations only. No part of the product should be-
come damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet! Power adapters pose the potential risk
of a fatal electric shock!
• Also observe the safety and operating instructions of any other devices that are connected to this
product.
• Do not operate the appliance when it is unattended.
• Only use the power bank with the enclosed power adapter.
• The housing of the power bank heats up during operation. Ensure sufficient ventilation; never
cover the product!
• Avoid the following adverse conditions at the installation location and during transport:
- Dampness or excessive humidity
- Extreme cold or heat, direct sunlight
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations, impacts or blows
- Strong magnetic fields such as those found in the vicinity of machinery or loudspeakers
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a warm one. The
condensation that forms can ruin the product under certain circumstances. The power adapter
also poses a risk for a potentially fatal electric shock!
Allow the product to reach room temperature before connecting it to the power supply and putting
it to use. This may take several hours.
• When setting up the product, make sure that the cables are neither kinked nor pinched.
• Handle the product with care; it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or accidental falls, even from
a low height.
Notes on rechargeable batteries
www.conrad.com
• The rechargeable battery is permanently installed in the housing of the power bank and cannot be replaced.
• Never throw the device in a fire. There is danger of fires or explosion due to the rechargeable batteries!
Version 04/15
• Charge the power bank on a regular basis even if it is not used (approximately every 3 months). Otherwise,
it may result in a deep discharge of the battery, thus making it permanently unusable. No initial discharge is
required during charging due to the rechargeable batteries used.
• During charging, place the device on a heat-resistant surface. The power bank gets warm during charging;
this is normal.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. Thus you should use
suitable protective gloves.
• Liquids leaking from rechargeable batteries are very chemically aggressive. Objects or surfaces coming into
contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged.
Getting started
a) Charging the internal rechargeable battery
• Connect the small Micro-USB socket of the power bank to the USB socket of the wall plug transformer using
the provided cable.
• Plug the power adapter into a mains socket.
• The charging time depends on the charge status of the battery in the power bank. The charging time of the
batteries is approx. 3 hours for fully discharged rechargeable batteries.
During the charging process, the LED of the power bank flashes orange. After the charging process finishes,
it lights up green.
b) Charging the mobile device
• Connect the large USB-A port on the power bank to your mobile device/ smartphone using a suitable cable.
• The LED in the power bank lights up green; the charging process starts. If the LED flashes orange, the
rechargeable battery of the power bank is low or flat.
• The power bank switches itself off at a defined battery voltage to protect the rechargeable battery against a
deep discharge.
• To stop charging, disconnect the cable connection between your mobile device/ smartphone and the power
bank by unplugging the USB connector of the cable from the USB-A port on the power bank.
The power bank then switches itself off; the LED goes out.
• Recharge the power bank so it is ready again for use.
Maintenance and cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason. The re-
chargeable battery is permanently installed and cannot be replaced.
Clean the product carefully, e.g. with a soft, clean cloth. Dust can be easily removed with a soft, clean brush
and a vacuum cleaner.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents and no chemicals at all for cleaning; these can lead not only to discol-
ouration, but can also damage the product.
