1)Fix on a flat wooden board two laths or plywood strips having a thickness of 4 mm., at a distance of 3 mm. from each other, so that the keel can be fitted In and remain there
In a vertical and straight position. Assemble, without gluing them, the frames 1-9 on the keel 10, make sure that there are no parts forcing Into the respective grooves, check
that the line of the decks and of the frames Is correct, then glue In position (fig. 1). Glue the deck 11, the main deck 12, the quarter-deck 13 and the seats 14 on the frames, fixing
them In position with pins driven In correspondence of the grooves. Glue the prow blocks 15 and 16 on the sides of the keel and under the deck and the stern blocks 19 behlng
the last frame (figs. 2 and 3).
2)Prepare the structure, for the assembly of the first planking adjusting the prow and poop frames and check the line leaning a strlpfrom the keel to the stern, following the
bending seen sideways. The planking consists In two layers of strips, the first one of soft wood, the second one of precious wood of different colour. Before being applied the
strips must be dipped In water for about half an hour so as to make them more flexible and to avoid breakages; besides, during the assembly, the strips must be glued two at a
time, alternatively on one side and on the other of the hull, so as to cause no warp of the structure, due to the tension of the strips. Glue the strips fixing them In position with
little nails driven only for half of their length, so as to take them off when the planking is finished. Apply the strips 20 starting from the line of the deck and going on downwards
tapering them towards the prow, as far as the keel and hlghwards as far as the ends of the frames, following the dashed line indicated In the table 1 (fig. 4).

3)Give a slight bending to the blocks 19, using sand-paper; then sheathe the lower part of the stern with the strips 21 (fig. 5).
4)Apply the second layer of planking, consisting In the strips 22 In the upper part and in the strips 23 In the lower part. The line of demarcation Is indicated In the table A.
Unlike the first planking, the strips 23 continue flat on the keel and they sheathe It partly (see dot-and-dash line In the table 1). Cut away with a chisel the ends of the frames
sticking out above the deck and sheathe the Inside of the bulwark, the vertical walls of the cabin and the quarter-deck and all the parts of the keel still visible with the strips
24 (fig. 6).
5)Sheathe the decks with the strips 25 and the upper part of the seats with the strips 26. Prepare separately the handrail consisting In 3 strips 27 glued to each other and
curved keeping them In position with some pins on a little board, on which a sheet of cellophane has been laid as protection (see fig. 7). Sheathe separately the roof 17 with
the strips 28 and the edge 29 and set In position (figs. 6 and 7).
6)Cut and glue on the hull the handrail previously prepared and the sheer-strakes 30 and 31 taking the position from the table A. Set the door 32 and the windows 33 and
34 with the glasses 35. Glue on the walls of the cabin, around the hatchway, around the seats and the quarter-deck the yellow rims 36 visible In the figures 6 and 8.
7)Assemble the companion of the cabin formed by the parapets consisting In pieces of strip 37 and by the sheathing 38 (fig. 10).
8)Glue the hinges 40 on the keel and on the rudder 18, previously sheathed with the strips 39, set In position Inserting the pins 41 and the tiller 42 slightly bent hlghwards
as Indicated in the drawing. Complete the stern gluing the side decorations 43 and the transom 44 (figs, 10 and 11).
9)Assemble the ladder formed by the parapets 45 and by the steps 46, cut to size and glue In the hatchway and on the right fore wall of the cabin. Glue on the left wall the
closed hatchway formed by the block 47 sheathed with the strips 48 and with the hinges 49. Assemble the lock of the bowsprit 50 consisting In the bills and In the cross-
beam made out of pieces of strip shaped as Indicated In the table 1. Prepare In the same way the cat davits 51 and glue them In position making some slits In the bulwark.
Glue under them the brackets 52 and on the prow the figure-head 53. Prepare and glue In position the central belaying pin-rack 54 supported by the bills 55, the side belaying
pin-racks 56 and 57, the bitts 58 and the cleats 59 (fig. 11).
10)Prepare the stocks 60 of the anchor 61, fasten the rings 62 to the cat davit and In the hole, prepare the supporting hook formed by a piece of brass wire 63 wrapped
around the block 64 and tie the anchor as Indicated In the figure 12.
11)Set the stand of the model 65 moulding the upper part following the shape of the huII and glue on the cross-bar the plate 66 (fig. 13).

1)Fissare su di una tavoletta di legno ben plana due listelli o strisce di compensato spes se 4 mm,,
distanti tra loro 3 mm., In modo che vi si possa Incastrare la chiglia e che es sa vi rimanga In
posizione verticale e rettilinea. Montare senza Incollar e le ordinate 1-9 sulla chiglia IO, assicurarsi
che non vi siano parti che forzano nel rispettivi Incastri, controllare che la linea del ponti e delle
ordinate abbia un corretto andamento, quindi In collare In posizione (fig. 1). Incollare iI ponte iI, la
coperta 12, Il cassero 13 e I sedigli 14 sulle ordinate fermandoli In posizione mediante spilli piantati
In corrispondenza degli Incastri. Incollare I blocchetti di prua 15 e 16 ai lati della chiglia e sotto la
coperta e i blocchetti di poppa 19 dietro l'ultima ordinata (flg. 2 e 3).
2)Preparare la struttura per iI montaggio del primo fasciame aggiustando le ordinate di prua e di
poppa e controllando l'andamento della linea appoggiando un listello che parta dalla chiglia e vada
verso poppa, secondo la curvatura vista di fianco. Il fasciame é costituito da due strati di listelli, il
primo In legno tenero e il secondo In legno pregiato di differente tonalità di colore. Prima di essere
messi In opera i listelli devono essere lasciati Immersi nell'acqua per circa mezz'ora al fine di
renderli più flessibili ed evitare rotture, Inoltre, durante iI montaggio, si devono Incollare I listelli
due alla volta, alte£ nativamente su un fianco e l'altro dello scafo, In modo da non provocare
deformazioni della struttura, dovute alla tensione del listelli. Incollare I. listelli e fissarli In posizione
con chiodini piantati a metà In modo da poterli togliere a fasciame ultimato. Montare i listelli 20
partendo dalla linea della coperta e proseguire verso iI basso, rastremando gli stessi verso prua,
fino ad Inconstrare la chiglia, e verso l'alto fino alle estremità delle ordinate, secondo la linea
tratteggiata Indicata nella tavola 1 (flg. 4).
3 Rivestire la parte Inferiore della poppa con I listelli 21 dopo aver dato con carta vetrata una
leggiera curvatura al blocchetti 19 (flg. 5).
4)Montare iI secondo strato del fasciame formato superiormente dal listelli 22 e Inferior mente dal
listelli 23, rilevando la loro linea di demarcazione dalla tavola A. A differenza del primo fasciame, i
listelli 23 proseguono di piatto fin sopra la chiglia rivestendola In parte (vedi linea tratto e punto
sulla tavola 1). Togliere con uno scalpello le estremità delle ordinate sporgenti sopra la coperta e
rivestire l'Interno della murata, le pareti ver tlcall della cabina e del cassero e tutte le parti ancora
visibili della chiglia con I listelli 24 (flg. 6).
5)Rivestire i ponti con i listelli 25 e la parte superiore del sedili con i listelli 26. Preparare a parte il
corrimano formato da 3 listelli 27 Incollati tra loro e precurvrtl tenendoli In posizione con degli spilli
su una tavoletta prima protetta da un foglio di cellophane come si vede nella figura 7. Rivestire a
parte iI tetto 17 con I listelli 28 e iI bordo 29 e montare In posizione (flg. 6 e 7).
6)Tagliare e Incollare sullo scafo II corrimano precedentemente preparato e gli Inclnto-nl 30 e 31
rilevando la posizione dalla tavola A. Montare la porta 32 e le flnesire 33 e 34, su cui sono stati
Inseriti I vetrini 35. Incollare sulle pareti della cabina, attorno al boccaporto, al sedili e al cassero le
bordature gialle 36 visibili nelle figure 6 e 8.
7)Montare iI tambucclo della cabina formato dalle spallette ricavate da pezzetti di listello 37 e dal
rivestimento 38 (fig. 9).
8)Incollare sulla chiglia e sul timone 18, precedentemente rivestito dal listelli 39, le cerniere 40,
montare In posizione Inserendo I perni 41 e la barra 42 leggermente curvata versò l'alto come si
vede In figura. Completare la poppa Incollando le decorazioni laterali 43 e lo specchio di poppa 44
(flg. 10 e 11).
9)Monlere la scaletta formata dalle spallette 45 e dal gradini 46, tagliare In misura e in collana nel
boccaporto e sulla parete anteriore destra della cabina. Su quella sinistra Incollare iI boccaporto
chiuso formato dal blocchetto 47 rivestito dal listelli 48, con le cerniere 49. Montare il fermo del
bompresso 50 formato dal blttonl e dalla traversa ricavati da pezzetti di listello sagomati come si
vede nella tavola 1. Preparare allo stesso modo le gru di capone 51 e Incollarle In posizione
praticando degli Intagli nella murata. Sotto di queste incollare le mensole 52 e sulla prua la polena
53. Preparare e Incollare In posizione la cavigliera centrale 54 sostenuta dal blttonl 55, le cavigliere
laterali 56 e 57, le bitte 58 o le gallocce 59 (fig. 11).
10)Preparare ceppi 60 dell'ancora 61, fissare alla gru di capone e nel foro dei!'accora gli ansili 62,
preparare iI gancio di sostegno formato da un pezzetto di filo di ottone 63 avvolto attorno al
bozzello 64 e legare l'ancora come si vede In figura (flg. 12).
11)Montare iI supporto del modello 65 sagomando la parte superiore secondo la forma dello scafo
e Incollare sulla traversa la targhetta 66 (flg. 13).
