TOOLS
External spline lock ring tool
Torque wrench compatible with lock ring tool that measures in Newton meters
Grease
Isopropyl alcohol (rotor cleaner)
INSTALLATION
1. Install the Center Lock to 6-bolt adapter onto the Center Lock hub, with the
six rotor tabs pointed outward.
2. Place your 6-bolt rotor on top of the adapter, aligning the bolt holes with the
rotor tabs.
3. With the serrated surface facing out, place the serrated 6-bolt washer
onto the rotor, once again aligning the bolt holes with the rotor tabs.
NOTE: If using a 2-piece rotor, set aside the serrated 6-bolt washer and
skip step 3. Continue with step 4.
WARNING: Do not use serrated 6-bolt washer with 2-piece rotors.
Doing so may damage the rotor, resulting in an accident and serious injury.
4. Thread on the Center Lock lock ring.
5. Using the torque wrench and external spline lock ring tool, tighten the lock
ring to 40 Nm.
6. Place a 5mm front hub spacer on the non-drive side of the front hub and
install the wheel in the fork end. (Tip: Dab a small amount of grease on the
5mm spacer and the hub end cap, then stick the spacer to the hub before
inserting the front wheel.)
7. Slide the remaining 5mm axle spacer on the drive side of the front hub
between the gap in the fork and the hub.
8. Install the front thru-axle according to manufacturer's specifications.
9. Remove any excess grease from the rotor using isopropyl alcohol.
WARNING: Improper installation of the lock ring may lead to product
failure, causing serious injury. Do not exceed specified torque values.
WARNING: A wheel attachment device that is not properly secured can
allow the wheel to loosen or come off, suddenly stop the wheel, decrease your
control, and cause you to fall.
ONGOING MAINTENANCE
Regularly inspect the Center Lock rotor lock ring and thru-axle for tightness.
Inspect your Front Booster Kit for signs of excessive wear, cracks, or other
fatigue before every ride. If you suspect your Booster Kit
has been damaged, return it to the shop where it was
purchased to be inspected by a professional bicycle
mechanic.
