APPROPRIATE USE

The active water sensor SHT 8800 is supplied with an operating voltage and outputs a voltage level
of approx. 80-90% of the operating voltage when it detects water or conductive liquid. This voltage is
evaluated with high resistance by an analog input.
The active water sensor SHT 8815 is connected to a digital input of a controller, which has an internal
pull-up / pull-down resistor and supplies the sensor with voltage. If the contacts of the sensor are
connected to a conductive liquid, the internal resistance in the sensor drops considerably and the
level at the digital input is pulled from HI to LO or from LO to HI.

CLEANING AND CARE

Avoid the effects of moisture (spray or rain water), dust as well as direct insolation on the device.
Clean the device exclusively with a dry linen cloth; in case of heavy dirt accumulation, it may be
slightly moistened. Do not use any detergents containing solvents.
