LED Solar Door Light
Item no. 57 79 83
Use in accordance with manufacturer's instructions
The product is used as wireless light in protected outdoor areas, e.g. next to a door. With suffi cient insolation
an inbuilt accumulator is recharged via the solar cell located on the upper side of the lamp. A long-lasting,
white, inbuilt LED is used as light source.
The activation of the LED takes place if the sensor surface on the front side of the lamp is touched. The LED
goes out automatically after approx. 10 - 15 seconds.

tected outdoor areas (e.g. under eaves). The product is protected according to IP52.
• Attention, LED light:
Do not look directly into the LED light!
Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!

General Notes about Batteries
• Keep rechargeable batteries out of the reach of children.
• Please observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the rechargeable battery.
• Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is a risk of them being swallowed by children or
domestic animals. If swallowed consult a doctor immediately, it can be fatal!
• Make sure that the rechargeable batteries are not shorted, opened, taken apart or thrown into fi re. There
is a risk of fi re and explosion!
• If rechargeable batteries are too old or spent, chemical reactions may occur which will damage the appli-
ance.
• If your skin comes into contact with leaking or damaged batteries, you may suffer burns. For this reason
you should use suitable protective gloves.
• When replacing the rechargeable battery, only use the battery type indicated in the chapter "Technical
Data".
Installation
Choose a suitable location for the installation. The solar cell on the upper side of the light should
face in the direction of the sun.
Since the light is only operated for short periods, a constant or long insolation is not necessary.
The light can also be mounted in a darker location. To recharge the battery, remove the light from
the wall bracket and put it in the sun for several hours (solar cell must face in the direction of the
sun).
Depending on the surface, the light can either be bolted down or you can use suitable, double-
sided adhesive tape.
• If you want to bolt down the light, remove the wall bracket from the light.
For this purpose, the wall bracket is to be pushed approx. 1 mm in direction
(1) (e.g. using a fl at head screw driver). Afterwards, it can be removed by
pulling it downwards (2), see picture on the right.
• Mount the wall bracket on the wall paying attention to the correct orientation,
so that the solar cell points upwards. Use appropriate screws and plugs.
Take care that cables or pipes are not damaged while drilling or bolting down.
• Slide the light back on the wall bracket until it snaps into place.
Operation

Version 06/11
To switch the light on, touch the marked sensor surface on the front. With suffi cient charging level of the
inbuilt rechargeable battery, the LED on the underside of the lamp lights up.
The LED goes out automatically after approx. 10 - 15 seconds.
Replacing the battery
Normally, the battery has a service life of several years, unless it is deeply discharged. To replace the
rechargeable battery, the light can be dismantled easily. Proceed as follows:
• Remove the lamp from the wall bracket.
• To remove the back of the light, loosen the attachment screw on the back (it might be hidden under a name
plate or label).
• Replace the battery with one of the same type (for data of the battery please refer to chapter "Technical
Data"). Please observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting the rechargeable battery.
• Replace the back and tighten it.
• Prior to using the lamp, charge the battery via the solar cell of the lamp.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product is maintenance-free.
Occasionally clean the solar cell or the housing from dust and soiling using a soft, clean cloth. Do not press
too strongly as this may lead to scratch marks or other damages.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the
casing or impair the operation.
Disposal
a) In general
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!

During initial operation, the integrated rechargeable battery is empty. Before you can use the
light, you have to charge the rechargeable battery. For this, suffi cient insolation onto the solar
cell is necessary for several hours.
If there is little or no sun at the mounting location of the lamp, the lamp can also be removed from
the wall bracket. Put the lamp in the sun for several hours (solar cell must face in the direction
of the sun).
