there are no
sharp
burrs on the
top
outside edge o{
the steertube. File or sand t0 remove
if
necessary.
lnstall all
headset components and
optional
spacers 0nt0

steer
tube. lt
is very
important

sure
the
steer
tub€
is clean and dry (l{o grease).
2)Slide the
stem
odo the
steer
tube.
Some back and
lorth rotation
may required
to
slide
the
stem down
until
it
touches the headsd spacas. Ensure Ca6on or Aluminum steer tubes are not scratched or damaged. 0ptional
headset manuiactures specifications.
(Typically
until
all "play"
is removed, bui rotation is still
smooth).
4)Remove
the
steer
tube clamp bolts and lightly
grease
the
bolt
threads and
under
the bolt
head. Line the stern
up
stnight
witfi the fiont tire, re-install and tighten both Steer
Tube
Clamp Bohs to recommended torque using
approgriate allen
key. Seo

5)Before riding check
that
all bolts are
tight and properly imtalled.
Perfurm
a
tvrist test by clamping
the
tont
wheel
betfleen
your legs and tr,vist
the stem usingthe handlebaB.

stem should not twist, if neessary
increase the torque to the maximum level
indicated
0n the stem.
6)Remove
all handlebar
clamp (faceplate) bofts,
place
pur
bar into the clamp. Lightly
grease
the
bolt
thEads
afld under the bolt head.
Re-install

and tighten bolts to recommerded
install torque using
appropriate

between the four bolts in

pattern until

achieved.
