Chapter 4 – Replacement of the mixed bed resin

4.1 Replacement of the ion-exchange mixed bed resin

If the electrical conductivity of the water running out of the water filter system exceeds 10 μS/cm, the
mixed bed resin contained in the ion exchange cartridge must be replaced.
To do this, proceed as follows:
Release the water pressure
from the cartridge and unscrew
the connection fitting.
Put a funnel on the
empty cartridge and fill in the
new resin.
Note:
Use only resin that is suitable for water treatment of heating system filling water!
We recommend ion-exchange resins with a high proportion of anion exchange resin beads.
After resin replacement, the cartridge should be flushed twice with a volume of water corresponding
to the total volume of the cartridge. This water should be disposed.

Pull the connection fitting with
the riser tube upwards.
Clean threads from resin. Install
filter head with O-ring seal and
riser tube to cartridge.
Deionized water filter cartridge system
Empty the old mixed bed
resin into a collecting bag and
dispose it in the residual waste.
Screw the connection fitting
hand-tight onto the cartridge.
Attention!! Do not tilt the
connection fitting. This can
damage the internal thread.
Pay attention to the correct
position of the o-ring!
